Joaquin Phoenix threw a wobbly on a reporter who dared ask him a question about how he preps for his acting roles.
Joaquin Phoenix, notoriously cranky in interviews, set a new standard for surliness with Time Out New York's Laura Leu the other day. When Leu asked by phone how he prepared for his role as a drug-addled nightclub manager in "We Own the Night," Phoenix responded, "I never prepare. I think that's completely overrated. It's a very simple job. All you have to do is . . . stand in the right spot and say the line. So I don't really believe in preparation." When Leu pressed, "But you prepared for 'Ladder 49' by training with a fire academy," testy Phoenix replied, "I just said that because I thought it would sound good to the press. I don't know why it seems to be of note that actors do any kind of preparation. It's just what you're supposed to do in your [bleep]ing job. Do you think that because you did some research you deserve some special credit?" Then he hung up on her.I think your brother would have been a little more gracious, and put down his syringe, and talked to the lady politely. Damn. What's wrong with you? Drunks can be so damn cranky first thing in the morning. The interviewer was asking him stupid questions... She was trying to get him to talk about drug stories, he wouldn't do it. This post leaves out the comments about eating meat and wearing fur that the "journalist" made before he hung up...

you know what...he is a first decan scorpio...the WORST. he isnt mean or an asshole...he most likely painfully SHY and we are known to be withdrawn like this. we suffer from depression and would most rather sit back in the corner shadows, having a smoke watching the rest of the little people of the world go about their business. plus, how u think he is such a good actor? scorps make the best because we can channel spirits and the energies of anybody, living or dead and it tends to haunt us. also with the death of his brother, that might have effed him up. he might be holding onto guilt and we tend to lose ourselves easily.
So no, he isnt a prick...just highly misunderstood. He isnt a snob either, he comes from a hippie homly low key family in florida and when I was a bank teller down there his mther used our branch for banking and she wasnt anything like that. get to know people before u judge them.
