The flurry of fashion activity continues over at Smashbox Studios for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in Los Angeles. So far models have worked it out on the runway for such designers as Heatherette, Christian Audigier , Sue Wong, Coco Johnsen, and Gregory Parkinson. But it's Nicky Hilton's new line, "Chick" that seems to have everyone still talking. At least in our socialite and celebrity filled neck of the woods. Still no word on why sister Paris was a no-show.
What do you think of the line? Would you wear them? Comment below and read what your favorite editors, Lisa and Jay have to say about "Chick" after the jump...
Lisa Timmons:
I feel like I've been easing up on the Hilton hate lately, solely based on Nicky Hilton's recent behavior. Her fashion line, Chick, has really hooked me--the designs combine my two favorite elements, girly looks that are still casual--not too fussy, with just the right amount of cutesy. I'm not one to dress up too much, but I could totally see myself in one of those dresses from the collection feeling like a pretty girl. And isn't that what is most important? Me feeling like a pretty girl?
Jay Harvey:
Nicky Hilton obviously passed Home Ec class at Beverly Hills High. I didn't. I couldn't make the mini-duffle bag out of denim and cotton. Nicky was able to and she went on to make several dresses out of it!
The girl in the denim shorts looks like she's never had cake. She needs to have some cake. Just a slice, or a spoonful of frosting. She's the only person that can wear that red napkin shirt. Who the hell among real women is going to be able to wear that except for anos?
Some of these seem very see-through. The world will become familiar with your nipples very quickly.

SNORE! Looks like the same crap you would find in Kohls.

the clothes are cute enough and it's refreshing to see a show where the clothes don't make ya tilt your head to the side and say 'mmmmhuh?'. but, they're not for me. they're not in my price range, age range, or size range.
so no, i wouldn't wear them. but i'm sure they'll be a hit with the current youngsterhipster hollywood crowd. and 'cheers' to that... since most of them seem to cover up the essential bits.

Madame D says:
As the designer, couldn't Nicky get a dress that would actually fit her? In every photo, her dress is ill-fitting and often askew.
Sharon says:
The clothing is blah, boring and repetitive. The polka dot pattern she keeps repeating is unoriginal.
