Ooh, I love it when Oprah casually just lets a doozy slip out on her show. On last Friday's episode of the Oprah Show, she had on guests who were the other women in the relationship--women who had been involved in affairs with married men. Later on in the show, Oprah would bring out wives who had been cheated on by their husbands and everyone would get a chance to interact. Well, during the segment with the mistresses, O let the bomb drop that as a young woman, she had been a mistress.
I don't think I've ever said this on TV before, but your story really mirrors my own. In my 20s, I was involved with a married man, and it is one of my greatest regrets. I later found out that the married man also had another "other woman." It is such a powerless position to be in. I don't have a whole lot of regrets in my life, but I regret it because of how pathetic it made me as a woman.Dang, Oprah! I don't know if any of you were watching, but the reactions of the women on panel were fairly priceless. The woman Oprah had been talking to practically had her jaw drop, but she kept it together, even though I'm fairly sure I could see a thought bubble rising from her head with the words, "Oprah, you filthy little slut!" rising from her head. Oprah keeps it real, y'all. I swear to God, that show is my crack.

haha that posting was funny. I love oprah too
T-Bone says:
It's good that she admitted this, for herself and for her viewers. I'm sure she felt a sense of relief, actually. It must have felt somewhat hypocritical being the "great advisor of the world", yet knowing you did something so terribly wrong and foolish in your youth. But it also lets people see that everyone is human, and that we can all learn from and move on from past indiscretions and become something great.
Miss Brown Eyes says:
I foresee a lot of Oprah "bombs" dropping about her past. I have a sneeking suspecion that Steadman knows too much and that's why she paid him off to keep his mouth shut. But like Cris Jud did tio J Lo, he'll try when the Oprah-mighty Gravy Train gets to rolling to a stop. She doesn't want Steadman to get the upper hand so to keep her dignity, she'll drop lil ooopsies about her past so the tell all shock value won't be there. She's just saving herself from public embarassment becauseshe afraid all those Oprah lovers will cash out on her!
Duh! says:
She has revealed this before on tv. She talked about stupid things she did when she was young, including drugs.
true says:
She already revealed tons of stuff about her past. she was a crack user. Seriously.
stolidog says:
When is she going to reveal that she's the Queen to Gayle's King?
names says:
hahaha i wonder what Jennifer Aniston thinks now, or will she still kissing Oprah's ass?
Noone is perfect says:
She will continue to do this because her oh so loving FATHER is doing a book about his daughter and EVERYONE knew before her. When she asked him he said "Oh I was going to tell you" WHEN ? After it was released ?
I mean to be honest that is low. She is now in her 50s and she is a self made woman. He can only really write about her what she has already told us years ago, she was raped twice by people her family trusted. The family did not back her up the way they should have but she had such a low self esteem that she became promiscuous.
What Else has Oprah Done? says:
If she's just so darned sharing, why hasn't she shared this before? It's because Kitty Kelley is going to write a tell-all bio unless Oprah buys her off, which I'm guessing she will try to do. I think it's funny, too, that Ope doesn't say she's sorry because what she did was WRONG or because it was WRONG to fool another woman. No, it was because of how it made OPRAH FEEL ABOUT HERSELF! Geez, this woman thinks she's the center of the universe -- it all happens to Oprah! She is a professional emotional mess, who has made scads of money because so many other women are amateur emotional messes and need the consolation of an electronic mommy.
