Britney Spears: Album 1, Appearance 0

Here's why I'm happy about this. Britney Spears has taken such a public beating lately, that I'm happy to see something good happening for her.

Here's why I'm sad about this. The success of her new C.D. could stunt her mental growth. She could come out of this saying "I can do anything I want and they'll STILL love me". This could be a problem.

Here's to hoping she appreciates the second chance she has been given, and becomes a better person and mom because of it.

Nice sentiments, T-Bone, but there is something seriously wrong with this girl, and you KNOW she's not going to use her latest success as a "lesson." It's going to be quite the opposite. She's never going to get the help she so desperately needs if the money keeps rolling in and people keep kissing her ass. It will be more of the same crazy behavior and indifferent parenting until something really dreadful happens.

Now if her album bombed, and she no longer got the attention and publicity that she craves, then MAYBE she might wake up, just MAYBE. And even then I'm giving her more credit than she deserves.

this is so bogus. record companies purchase thousands of their artist's records to boost firt week sales. then they give away the purchased CDs to gift bags, fan contests, MTV, etc.

I agree with Jaileen. Her new CD is a hit. Every song on it is good. Regardless of what you think of her personal life, your going to hear her music.

If people stopped breathing down her throat day in and out maybe she could have room to actually change her life for the positive.

I honestly suspect that all Britney's die-hard fans who will NEVER admit to themselves what she has become scarfed up her record the minute it was available, but that sales will slump soon when the rest of the world takes a pass on this thing.

This is a perfect example of how far downhill the music industry today has gone. Like j harvey said this album's success has very little to do with britney but the work of producers and industry insiders. You could take any other girl off the street and put them in her place and they could do the same thing. She's no great talent (if any at all). It's sad that real song writers and musicians get little notice while talentless pop whores like her get all the glory. Sad.

I'm not gonna lie, I bought that crazy bitch's Album and it rocks. The funny thing is that I hated Britney Spears when she was all bubble gum and Oops she did it again. That crap was horrible.

In the Zone was the first Britney Spears Album I liked.

If I were Carrie Underwood I'd just throw in the towel now. How depressing that this garbage can can out sell someone that can actually sing. She should be given zero credit for this album. Make her do a "Britney: Unplugged" and see what she can do then.

I listened to much of the cd on the interenet. Sounded like overproduced crap. Singing quality very low, nothing but beats and samples, may as well become a rap artist.
