Confirming the mantra Celine Dion has been repeating in her own mind since she was a child, she received the Legend Award at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo last night. She joins Elton John, Diana Ross, Luciano Pavarotti, and Ray Charles in this honor. Look at how she holds that trophy. She's very "Merde, it's about time!" about the whole thing.
The award, presented at a gala in Monte Carlo Sunday night, honours "a top recording artist in recognition of their global success and outstanding contribution to the music industry."Dion's latest album, Taking Chances, is due to be released Nov. 13.
Zoot alors! Celine is cest magnifique! Yeah, I don't know French. Here's more pics from the awards. I'm on total Nip/Tuck watch lately, and I have this sinking feeling that there's a sad reason Julian McMahon is wearing a lot of hats lately. And it's not because it's fashionable. Did that hairplug thing they did on the show HAVE to be done in real life? DO NOT implant hair in your head. It's creepy. Especially if it's someone else's. Ugh. Dead guy's hair. Just say eff it and shave it. Bruce Willis works it. And he saved the Nakatomi Building from terrorists.

I'm not sure why Celine gets so much bad press; I think she has a wonderful voice. Granted, I only listen to her X-mas CD but still....
Wendy says:
I think she gets bad press because she appears to be a crazy Canadian with broken English and she used to talk about how sad she was that she would have her periods when she was trying to get knocked up by that 1,000 year old husband of hers. And did you see her on Larry King Live after Hurrican Katrina ripped through New Orleans? That was cringe-worthy. She's a very dramatic woman and I personally think that she sings as though every note were her last. There's nothing subtle about her. And I treat her like a train wreck. I know I shouldn't watch but I do.
Nanc' says:
She's a "crazy Canadian" with broken English? There are a lot of folks here now with broken English and having taken French classes, I can honestly say that I have "broken-French".
I haven't seen that she's crazy. Maybe I'm out-of-the-loop.
I know she has embryos frozen for God-knows how long but then again, she is getting on in years too and her husband had to store some "juice" in case his cancer treatments rendered him non-productive. Discussing your periods is never good but I'm guessing she was just talking about being depressed.
She married her first love - granted - a man many, many years older than herself BUT we don't hear stories of her neglecting her kid or "whoring" around flashing her crotch or driving drunk. Again, why the bad press?

Celine Dion is a horse-faced Frankenstein monster.

Who is the extremely fine boned young man in the lime green jacket?

celine dion is beautiful inside and out! have your eyes checked out jbonz! celine is very real, she doesn't care what people think and if she wants to act crazy and weird, good for her. to me she's the most approachable super celebrity. she's a comedian and i think she should do comedy movie or show... very light hearted person!
