Casey Affleck and Thandie Newton (ignoring the weird flesh-tone layer of her dress) were the cutest thing at the "No Country for Old Men" premiere. OK, Javier Bardem, who stars in the Coen brothers film along with Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin IS dashing, but he's dressed a bit too much like a magician for my taste. The San Francisco Chronicle chatted with Brolin about his role in the film, as well as Bardem's strange look, who apparently "goes through the movie with a wild look in his eyes and Mamie Eisenhower bangs," reports the Chronicle.
"The day after Javier got his hair cut we went for drinks and he goes, 'I'm not going to get laid for three months, man,' " Brolin said. "And I said, 'I think you're right.' "Personally, I think that as long as he stands next to John Malkovich, he'll always look infinitely more sane and trustworthy in comparison. Don't get me wrong, I think John's done some great work, but boyfriend is CREEPY. Also, I love how one of the Coen brothers showed up to the premiere with a newspaper in hand. I'd love to see him doing the crossword on the red-carpet, alternately swatting reporters with it when they ask stupid questions. I mean, that's all I know how to do with a newspaper. Reading is for old people. I hear it causes wrinkles.
