I have to say that save for the occasional cardboard cut-out attack, Paris Hilton seems to be keeping a relatively low profile these days. And her sister, Nicky, really does appear to be coming into her own, with one successful fashion event after another. The sisters recently combined their powers to promote their line of handbags that they're designing for designer Samantha Thavasa at an event in Tokyo. And I wish I knew who this wackily-dressed, emphatic-looking individual was in the top hat and sunglasses bookended by the two Hiltons--for all I know, it could be the designer herself. In any case, the two sisters look happy to be doing something constructive together that doesn't involve a table-top. And really, I'm talking about Paris mostly, because Nicky seems to have her shit together these days. Maybe she's rubbing off on her usually less sensible sister. Let's hope not too much. I'm thinking Paris has at least a few more years of ridiculousness in her. If not, I might have to actually consider getting a real job.

Kathy Hilton was skewered in a recent Vanity Fair article: Prententious, vain, star-obsessed, money hungry, and not at all who she pretends to be. Sound familiar? The apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree.
This side of the Hilton family is not exactly "to the manor born," and has much less money than they pretend to have. Kathy is obviously riding on the coattails of Paris' sex tape notoriety, which really started it all. That's when the cash really started to roll in for Paris, and when she really started to use the media to cash in on that fame. It's all she had to work with. That's why they never blocked the sale of the tape. Like Paris, Kathy has all sorts of odd jobs...selling herself and the Hilton name as much she can. Any way they can make a buck -- regardless of the costs. PH is no more of an "heiress" than I am. They're so phony, it's pathetic.

Samantha Thavasa is not a person. It's the name of the brand but it's started by a Japanese man. There is no designer or person out there by the name of Samantha Thavasa. btw, alot of celebrities endorse or design for this brand. When I went to Japan I saw billboards of the Hilton sisters, Beyonce, and Maria Sharapova.
