Katie Holmes successfully completed the New York Marathon on Sunday. She crossed the finish line at around 3:30 p.m. and her final time was 5:29:58. Major props to her. Running marathons is not something you snark on. Those are some hard times. When you hit a hill, it's like you've entered the ninth ring of hell. Or so they tell me. The only marathons I take part in usually involve drinking. And if it's an actual marathon, it's fun to stand on the sidelines outside of your favorite bar on the route and cheer the runners on. What? I'm supportive!
Right after that first kiss, Holmes still had a way to go after Tom caught up to her at 1st Avenue and 96th Street, about 20 blocks from the Cruise's Upper East Side hotel. A path over to and down Manhattan's West Side was still before her.
This was probably her chance to exit the marriage, but you know her husband Tom Cruise kept a tight hold on that kid and emphasized that "SURI and I will be there to greet you when you cross the finish line. I will be keeping a tight hold on YOUR DAUGHTER so she doesn't wander off. I'd hate for anything to happen to SURI." And you know Xenu operatives were shadowing her the entire marathon. Running beside her, in trees, in sewers she ran over. With those wrist radios. Couldn't one of them have radioed for a bra for her?

Let's not get carried away into giving her much credit ... she hardly ran for 5.5 hours. Her time translates to over 12 minutes per mile which can be achieved by walking. I'm not impressed that someone can walk 26 miles ... I could walk fifty in 10 hours with no training.

I think they are absolutely adorable. I didn't know that Katie Holmes was training for a marathon. Kudos to her for completing the marathon--and to have Tom and Suri cheering her on--I think it is a great story and I love the pictures. They look really happy.

Oh yeah, poor boobs. The thought of running, even if she has a built in bra support, doesn't seem to be doing its job. My boobs are sore just looking at that. Ouch!!!!!!!!!!

yeah yeah, good for her, but seriously. If you enlarge that picture of her in the purple tank top, running, and leave the head off it (scroll down and just keep the neck and body lol) she looks like a freaking 70 year old. Seriously. humped back, frail arms, slouched, very little muscle mass. It's unfortunate. I thought the idea of physical activity was health and longevity. Her body looks like it's aged 40 years in 5.
