Alicia Wild? Yikes! Her mom was right! "Alicia Keys" is actually a stage name that Alicia Augello-Cook uses. She was originally going to call herself "Alicia Wild" but her Mom thought "uh uh, that's a pole-dancer".
The NYC-born singer, 27 -- née Alicia Augello-Cook -- says that she had a tough time figuring out a professional name, so she began thumbing through the dictionary. She stopped on the word "wild."
But when she ran it past mom, "she said, 'It sounds like you're a stripper,'" Keys reveals in the new issue of Newsweek.
Alicia decided on calling herself after the piano keys. And from there, it was all success. Her new album "As I Am" just came out and I'm liking the single "No One". Some bitches are saying it's kind of a bore, but what the hell do they know? They probably think "Alicia Wild" sounds dope and not like someone who starred in "Horny Hot Tub Bitches 13" with Sheena Rex and Tiffani Jacuzzi. The bubbles, they tickle!

she's really quite overrated, regardless of what her name is.
