A gaffe at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has resulted in a medical emergency for Dennis Quaid's newborn twins, Zoe Grace and Thomas Boone. The babies were mistakenly given a dose of Heparin, an anti-coagulant, that was 1000 times greater than the dose they should have received. According to TMZ, it was late Sunday night that the babies began to "bleed out" and were, in turn, given Promatine to reverse the effects of the anti-coagulant. It appears that as many as thirteen patients at the hospital might have also improperly been improperly dosed, however given the fact that Zoe and Thomas are newborns, they are naturally more strongly affected by the overdose. According to TMZ:
We're told a technician stored the Heparin in the wrong place, and when a nurse grabbed the medicine for the babies without looking -- it was the wrong dosage.Poor babies. Understandably, there has yet to be a statement from either the Quaid family, or the hospital. Ugh. I hate writing about stuff like this...

mistakes happen, it just sucks that all these people are going to get persecuted 100 times worse just cuz those 2 were kids of famous people.
oh and loob, don't put all the blame on the nurse, you'll wish you didn't when you need a nurse one day. as a nurse myself, i can say that nurses are some of the most competent health care workers around.

mistakes happen??? are you serious mich?? yeah, when you forget to shut the lid on the toilet but not give an overdose to a baby!! you are stupid!!! just because they are more wealthier doesn't mean that that nurse needs less punished! That mistake could of cost them their lives! How would you feel if that was your child?? Oh and I don't think anyone wants you as their nurse anyways....freak!
