Jake Gyllenhaal (pictured here working the corner) is set to play famed pro football player Joe Namath in a biopic. In pro athelete circles, Namath is legendary for wearing fur coats on the sidelines and for leading the NY Jets to victory in a legendary Superbowl against the Baltimore Colts. I'll quit playin'. I had to look that up. Football isn't my thing. The only reason I know who Joe Namath is would be because he guested on "The Brady Bunch" and he had an awesome interview with a female sportscaster a couple of years back. In which he was drunk and tried to seduce her on national televison. Best sporting event I ever watched on TV. You can view that piece of sports history here. No need to thank me. Please include Jakey G in old guy makeup and re-enacting that. I'll send fruit baskets. And would someone please tell Jake Gyllenhaal he doesn't have to work the streets to meet the mens? Damn, ya ever heard of ManHunt?

He is so handsome with well groomed hair and beard and the sunglasses! I love him!!!!!!!!
Why says:
Come on, why do you have to use really old pics for this story. Your "gay Jake" commentary is really lame. He is a good actor and I think he would do justice to Joe. Rock on Jake!!
Loob says:
I mostly remember Joe Namath from guest bits on "I Love Lucy", or whichever Lucy show it was. The one where Lucy had her *cough* teenaged kids living with her.

You also forgot his famous (well, at the time) advertisement for Leggs pantyhose. He put them on for a TV commercial. It was pretty funny actually. The thing I don't get is that he was supposed to be this handsome stud. He is homely as homely can be.

I don't see Gyllenhaal being believable as Joe Namath. He should just continue honing his live-action acting chops by playing Reese Witherspoon's er, umm... significant other.
