Eva Mendes is the newest ass of PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign. She's appearing in a saucy new campaign, centered around her juicy booty. Previous nudists against fur included Alicia Silverstone, Pam Anderson, Christy Turlington, and Christina Applegate. Who do you think had the most air-brushing? I'm going with Pam, she's looking like twenty five miles of bad dirt road lately. Eva says she was turned on to the animal activists fight against tacky coats when she wore a fur wrap to her first movie premiere. It was sent to her by a publicist, and the inevitable letter from PETA followed. In it, they promised that if she kept wearing fur, they would skin her first child and wear his or her pelt to THEIR next movie premiere! A sufficiently fearful Mendes agreed but played it off as being "impressed" and "vowed to them and myself to never wear real fur again." Well, yeah, because your kid's going to look kinda weird without dermis. Just playin', PETA didn't say that to her but there was a letter. And you know they'll take it there someday. Those bitches are crazy! Eve does think wearing a chinchilla says "you're ignorant", though. True.

I speak the truth when I say PETA peeps are hypocrites and total loons who do nothing for the cause. Boo PETA.

SHUT THE F UP SPEAKTHETRUTH! YOU'RE AN IDIOT! I SUPPOSE YOU WEAR FUR AND EAT POUNDS OF FLESH DAILY. PETA DOES A LOT FOR ANIMALS. WHAT DO YOU DO?

"Like most people, Eva wasn't always aware of the cruelty of the fur trade. She told us, "I remember having my first premiere in New York City and being so naïve that I didn't have a coat with me. My stylist sent me a ... fur wrap for the evening, and I ignorantly wore it. PETA then wrote me a beautiful letter commenting on my less-than-educated choice. I was so impressed that I vowed to them and myself to NEVER wear real fur on the red carpet or in my life again.
As Eva knows, the fur trade is a violent, bloody industry that has no place in fashion. On fur farms in China, where most fur originates, minks, foxes, rabbits, and other animals are kept in tiny wire cages in all weather extremes. They are strangled, bludgeoned, and often skinned while they are still alive. Since fur is often deliberately mislabeled, if you wear fur, there's no way to tell whose skin you're in--it could even be cat or dog fur".

Eva is beautiful, sexy, gorgeous, so I can totally see why PETA would use her for the campaign, she'll make people stop and look at the poster, the cause. I haven't looked at a PETA campaign in years but I'll look at this one. She is beautiful.
misc says:
Peta is full of crazys. I'm all about animal rights and preventing animal cruelty, but I can't stand Peta.
T-Bone says:
Good for Eva! I'm not saying all human beings should quit all things related to animals, but wearing fur is ONE thing people can easily do to save the lives of animals. Face it, faux fur looks just as good as real fur, these days. There is absolutely no reason why a person needs to have like 50 to 200 small animals killed and skinned (and sometimes beaten, tortured and skinned alive) for their one glamorous fur coat. It's absurd. Once you start developing feelings for animals, it's pretty hard to just look away and let someone else deal with what's going on. PETA is doing the best they can to protect the rights and ethical treatment of animals. Good for them! And once again -- good for beautiful Eva!
spaz says:
damn, does her ass really look like that?...I'm jealous.

well said, I agree completely.
I used to not care about fur that much, but I did some of my own research on the subject, and saw some absolutely HORRIBLE videos. People who continue to wear fur and use fur in their fashion lines need to be educated about how the fur is obtained. Even Paris Hilton saw the light after PETA got to her.
and the thing about fur not being labeled is spot on. remember Diddy's clothing line that was using dog fur? EW.
