Will Smith's new flick "I Am Legend" (go see "The Omega Man", it's kitschy and probably more fun) has been banned from being shown in China. They let Tyra and her top models in and not Will Smith? That's gotta hurt. China is trying to boost their own film industry and has put a cap on the number of foreign films that are allowed to be distributed to their country. In fact, there is currently a three month ban on all American films. Will says "we struggled very, very hard to try to get it to work out, but there are only a certain amount of foreign films that are allowed in." The film is a sci-fi piece about Will being the last man left alive after a virus kills most of the world's population and turns the rest into vampire demon creatures. Seriously, one of the previous film adaptions of this story was Charlton Heston in "The Omega Man" and it was boss. He had an awesome love interest (this hot black chick with a jacked up Afro). And he tooled around in a convertible, fighting the vampires who had bleach white skin and wore sunglasses. I'm sure Will's flick will be full of stunning CGI moments and downhome Will Smith heroism. But Charlton Heston fought vampires in sunglasses! And big Dungeon's and Dragons satanic cloaks!

Right on, J.Harv! The Omega Man is very cool! Everyone should rent that first.
It's one of the first films to ever give me nightmares. Because I think I was about nine years old when I first saw it on tv.
