So PETA has gone after the Olsen Twins with guns a'blazin! PETA has labeled Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as "Hairy-Kate and Trashley Trollsen" and taken them to task for including fur articles in their clothing line called "The Row". Do high school girls run PETA? Not only have they released an unflattering poster of them referring to them as "ugly", but there's even a website where you can send them an e-mailed death threat for wearing and selling fur. Ok, it's not advertised as a death threat but you know PETA works. Their homes are probably already burning as we speak. A Socialite's Life has the exclusive on the Olsen twins' reaction to this attack. A source close to the Olsen Twins has told A Socialite's Life that:
They aren't phased by the attack on them from PETA. They've always come under fire for their fashion style, so the PETA attack doesn't surprise them at all. They find it sad that PETA has put all of their time, money and resources into this attack on them (Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen) and many other celebrities along the way, when they could be focusing on doing some actual good for animals.God, I so want a copy of that poster to hang.

Lucifer says:
Seriously, when is PETA gonna grow a pair & go after someone that is actually gonna fight back?
The rap world is full of furs & yet PETA has not said a thing to them .....
stolidog says:
fur sucks.
skin the olsons, you might get enough skin for a tea cozy out of them.
Kate says:
I do not wear fur, but this absurd marketing ploy by Peta makes me want to go out and buy a fur coat for Christmas.
The ridiculous attack Peta has made against the Olsen twins is beyond my comprehension. Is Peta run by a bunch of catty high school girls?? It appears so and by the way that is a legitimate question to ask Peta. I thought Peta was a thought provoking group with some intelligent arguments to offer, apparently I was mistaken.
The attack on these girls can only be characterized as childish and immature on Peta's part, not to mention a huge waste of their time and resources. It is no wonder people think they (Peta) all are a bunch of loons, until today I may have defended some of Peta's actions. Not any more!!
I hope Peta finds a more worthwhile way to spend their time and allocates their resources more carefully. Frankly, Peta just looks foolish and ignorant, not to mention mean, petty, and childish and if that is what Peta is trying to accomplish then well done.

Jinxy McDeath says:
These are EXACTLY the people PETA should be going after, ignorant, unfeeling toads, who have pretend clothing labels. They have made a billion dollars between them, the Olsens could be doing more to help anyone, but they don't - so that argument falls flat. Remember P Diddy Doody who in his last collection, which was manufactured in Chinese work houses, were trimmed with DOG fur? Sweet. Go buy a fur, buy 2, but please when you get home surf the net and see how your coat was inhumanely slaughtered, sometimes while still alive. Enjoy your coats.
Kym says:
I hope this causes major backlash for PETA. When you demean others in the name of a cause it's no longer just stating your opinion and supporting your cause - It's down and out harassment and I hope the Olsen's use all that money they have to sue the crap out of PETA! I never thought much about PETA before and now you will never find me supporting them.
DesertCat says:
The Olsen twins are absolutely fair game -- they choose to live their lives in the public eye, and with all of the (undeserved) press attention they receive, I think they should be called out for promoting something as repulsive as the wearing of corpse covers. Right ON, PETA!
Hey Cupcake says:
I think wearing fur is revolting AND think PETA's advertising tactics have been incredibly stupid for many years. Remember the "got beer?" ads to encourage college students to drink beer instead of milk? I'm all for listenining to other opinions, but they're not always well-reasoned.
As for PETA's potential loss of a few supporters, I'm sure they don't mind. Their shock tactics get tons of attention.
leilah says:
J., darlin', it's "fazed", not "phased" -- well, unless the Olsons weren't placed in various stages or hit with a Star Trek weapon....
jbonz says:
What can you expect from an organization of blood-perverts who use "animal rights" as a front for the international trade in snuff porn???
gerard Vandenberg says:
I think after viewing these picture you haven't got any nerves left in your body to wear FUR!!
Sasha says:
Fur makes me itchy well more of car sick. I hate PETA they remind of the annoying cunt in highschool who pretends to have so me disorder is very promiscous and attention seeking oober tree hugging ultra feminist "bisexual" who analyzes lunches and theatens to skin babies. So in conclusion I got over it mostly and I eat meat everyday and I wear fur.
The olsen twins dont give a fuck I must say great minds think a like and have found myself to have an urge to wear things despite the stares I get in shithole Mss to find it in the next dew days on blogs of the twins.
Toodles bitches
MK says:
I despise PETA and their tactics - it seems to be run by people who need to work on their social skills and learn how to treat and interact with people rather than just animals. Yeah, they can create an elaborate and degrading website all about the Olsens, but it just makes the organization's immaturity even more blatant.
If I were a celebrity and they did something like this to me, sure as Chigurh (thanks fourfour), I'd be wearing floor length mink coats every day for the next month. In fact, because of this I think I might go purchase that cardigan with the mink trim I saw at that vintage store for a great price... way to go PETA!
Call me heartless if you want, I just think there's more mature ways to go about anti-fur campaigning (though I wouldn't be involved). Business is business, supply and demand, it's the way the world works - get used to it, PETA.
T-Bone says:
Jinxy and Stoli -- RIGHT ON!
These are exactly the kind of people PETA should go after, and PETA has tried a number of times to reason with them in a nice way, but to no avail! These two continue to wear their fur coats made up of 50 to 200 small animals who have more than likely been beaten, tortured and skinned alive so that these two ugly witches can look glamorous! Watch this video and never again will you side with people who wear fur. and if you still side with them, you are a sadistic psychopath:

Q says:
something you may not know about PETA
"PETA president and co-founder Ingrid Newkirk has described her group's overall goal as "total animal liberation." This means no meat, no milk, no zoos, no circuses, no wool, no leather, no hunting, no fishing, and no pets (not even seeing-eye dogs). PETA is also against all medical research that requires the use of animals." Because of PETA's belief that owning pets is inhumane, they have euthanized thousands of adoptable animals to "save" them from a life of cruel treatment.

Nanc' says:
Good point, "Q".
PETA started-out with good intentions and then the freaks took over.
Btw, rabbits are raised for food; their fur is just "gravy", no offense, and mink are raised on ranches just like cattle, chickens, and other FOOD. I wouldn't wear fur that was trapped or rabbit (just 'cause it's cheap and tacky) and I care about humane treatment of animals but I'm not giving-up meat and leather just as I doubt most of us are.
peachpie says:
while PETA's intentions may be honourable; their methodology is NOT. i will not support a group of dishonourable zealots -- no matter the cause.
i just plain don't care that they slaughter animals for fur. they slaughter cows, pigs, deer, chickens, fish, bison, etc for my dining enjoyment and i don't care. it tastes good. and that's part of my culture. i'm not giving up a new york strip because they killed a cow. humanely/inhumanely... whatevs.
i *prefer* it was done humanely; but if it's not, it's not. i'll contact my governmental representatives, if i take a notion to. but, probably not.
PETA, and others, can rage all they want. everyone has a right to make their own choice, including PETA. but if someone doesn't agree with my opinion; too bad, so sad. *everyone* is allowed to make choices for themselves; and must allow others that same right. and don't try to freakin' convert everyone you run into on the street. we're living in a world of social-cause jehovah's witnesses.
(no offense to jw's -- just a reference to the door-knocking practices of that partic religion.)
live and let live. you'll be a lot less stressed out.
T-Bone says:
I, personally, do care about how animals are treated and that things are done as humanely as possible. If you don't, that's kind of your problem. If you feel, like many, that animals are at our disposal to do whatever we'd like, and that we have total dominion over them and therefore can be as cruel as we want to be -- you're sadly mistaken. The mistreatment and neglect of animals is exactly why your f*#king tasty pieces of meat and chicken are being recalled every other week for E-coli, Salmonela and every other bacteria known to man. It's called MASS FARMING (and therefore neglect and abuse) FOR PROFIT and it's actually killing people!!! The way we treat our land and the way we treat our animals CAN AND WILL come back to haunt every one of us. There are ways to do farming that doesn't lead to INFECTION, diseases of our children via growth hormones and mass antibiotics and ABUSE of the animals! So you just go ahead and sit there in your comfortable homes in all of your gluttony and eat your meat and wear your furs and you just KEEP ON THINKING that this doesn't and won't affect you! Just wait!
LoveYa Bitches says:
WATCH THIS DOCUMENTARY (it's on HBO)- You will think Ingrid Newkirk(PETA co-founder)is a little (maybe allot) crazy BUT you will see some of the most horrifying acts done to animals--if you don't cry you will absolutely have your breath taken away at the horror.
http://www.hbo.com/docs/programs/iamananimal/index.html
Oh and MK you're a fucking moron!
Supply and Demand...hahahaha dumb bitch.
the olsen twins suck says:
NO ONE WITH A LICK OF SENSE WEARS FUR. ONLY UNEDUCATED ENTITLED LITTLE TROLLS WEAR FUR!
T-Bone says:
OH, and NO Kate -- YOU actually are the one who looks foolish.
Peter says:
I sooooo want one of these posters!
running it all says:
PETA is run by a bunch of hypocrites. One example: Two execs use insulin (hmmmm....how is insulin produced and how was it tested?) and do more harm than good for our animal friends at this point. This Anti-Olsen campaign is lame and insulting to anyone with a brain. PETA blows, truely.
Plus, who buys a fur coat anymore? Gramma Ethel!? Who gives a shit!?
stolidog says:
Bitchin' T-Bone!
F* these little morons attacking PETA for giving a glimmer of thought to something other than themselves.
Jeanie says:
I'm not a fan of peta, but their tactics do work. They want people to pay attention to them and their cause, which is exactly what the Olson attack has done. I personally think the "Fur is worn by beautiful animals and ugly people" quote is brilliant. Too true. Fur clothing makes me sick to my stomach as do the people who wear it.
Momo says:
Shouldn't these ppl lear how to treat other human beings before worrying about how other ppl feel about animals? O the hypocrisy. I understand the movement against fur but what's the point on being petty and mean to 2 stupid little girls who's opinions are not going to be changed. To get people to ur side you have to change the whole mentality and the culture of people's relation to animals. They are stupid for doing this, this is so sad and I can't believe ppl are supporting this action. Learn how to live with each other first b4 moralizing ppl. So sad...
stolidog says:
Momo...people can learn how to treat people AND animals well, AT THE SAME TIME! Isn't that AMAZING?? One doesn't have to come before the other.
T-Bone says:
Yes Momo - they're not mutually exclusive. Some of us are capable of multi-tasking. We can actually give a SH*T about both human beings AND animals! Imagine that skill! In fact, I might be inclined to believe that one would HAVE to give a sh*t about animals in order to care about other human beings. Animals are wholeheartedly innocent creatures under the manipulative thumb of human beings. They do nothing wrong unless threatened. At the very least we can treat them with respect and dignity. They were put here by the same creator that created us. So don't be fooled into thinking you can rule over them by abusing them. That's not what was intended. Everything on the earth should be respected, and there are MANY, MANY farmers who feel this exact way and farm accordingly. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE in this American culture needs to wear fur! WE ARE NOT native Alaskans, nor are we using the skin, coats and meat to survive! So good for PETA for calling out these no-good, self absorbed, ego-centric little Hollywood snots!
all for fur says:
And God went on to say: "Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds, domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind." And it came to be so. 25 And God proceeded to make the wild beast of the earth according to its kind and the domestic animal according to its kind and every moving animal of the ground according to its kind. And God got to see that [it was] good.
26 And God went on to say: "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth." 27 And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God's image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 Further, God blessed them and God said to them: "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth."
Engine No. 9 says:
"all for fur" - can I subject you to some common sense? Granted, you might not be as worthy as the other earthly creatures...
I mean, don't get me wrong, you're more than welcome to sit in your plexiglass box of religion. You can also quote from that lovely work of fiction. But we also have this in Leviticus, Chapter 11:
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts
which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the
cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or
of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the
cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is unclean unto you.
6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the
hoof; he is unclean unto you.
7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet
he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not
touch; they are unclean to you.
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath
fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them
shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the
rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which
is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of
their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be
an abomination unto you.
13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the
fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle,
and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
15 Every raven after his kind;
16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
Etcetera, etcetera.
T-Bone says:
Nice Engine # 9! I love how "all for fur" simply assumes that the word "subjection" means beat, torture, neglect and dispose of wastefully. That's kind of the same mentality as the abusive male who thinks that just because the Bible says women were made for men and made after men, then that means men can beat the sh*t out of them, torture them, kill them at will, and then just dispose of them. I love that mentality! I think all for fur forgot that there's actually a new testament out there and that Jesus probably wouldn't approve of the mistreatment of ANYTHING created by God. Yes, use what you need to survive, but have respect and in NO WAY TORTURE ANY THING OR ANY PERSON! Remember, Jesus said "what you do to the least of these, you do to me".
