Amy Winehouse has now been arrested for charges related to the very allegations that landed her husband in jail recently. The troubled singer has been taken into custody after an investigation into Blake-Civil Fielder's actions that led to his incarceration under a perversion of justice charge, implicated Amy, his wife, as well. According to Sky crime correspondent, Martin Brunt, "It had been speculated that police might have an interest in any allegation about his wife's potential involvement." Now, as much as I know it would suck for Amy to have to kick her drug habit behind bars, maybe this will at least buy her some time. Honestly, it might even be the best thing for her, at the moment.

I've been wondering something since this whole thing started: What is the difference between what Amy and Blake are accused of and, what we here in the U.S. call a "negotiated out-of-court settlement"? Both involve paying someone to not press charges, right? Obviously there are some crimes that should always see the inside of a court room but wasn't this over something like simple assault.

I don't think is was a simple assult. the Bartendar Blake and his buds but in the hospital and now has a medal plate in his head/face... not as simple was a bush and shove.

I wasn't really paying attention, and at first I thought the headline read "Amy Winehouse Knocked Up."

Del Boca Vista, I thought they were trying to bribe one of the witnesses to the crime, not the victim. Or maybe they were threatening a jury member. I can't really remember, but I know it wasn't anything remotely similar to an out of court settlement.
