The star of "Apt Pupil," and one of my personal favorites, "Ghostworld," Brad Renfro, was found dead in his home in Los Angeles this morning. This news comes after the 25-year-old had just recently finished filming "The Informers," which also co-starred Billy Bob Thornton and Winona Ryder.
According to TMZ, Renfro had been battling substance abuse, with a number of drug convictions under his belt, and was going through an especially difficult time recently, in the wake of his parents' divorce. The cause of death has not yet been established.

I agree with comment #8...what a WASTE of talent. You people make me sick. He's an actor...a person no different than you or I, who just happens to be granted some gifts in life that make him a lot more fortunate than most of us. But if this was ANY other person on the planet who's not in the limelight, who may be equally as talented...no one would ever hear about it. IT sickens me that people get so broken up over celebs deaths, arrests, who's banging who, etc. Focus your time and energy on things that affect YOU. I feel NO sympathy for someone who dies from drug abuse, which I am sure Mr. Renfro's death can be attributed to. He, alike many others, are selfish and wasteful people! If you are lucky enough to have the gift to act, sing, entertain, whatever it may be that got you famous...why let it go to waste? Why abuse your gift and f*ck your life up using drugs? You are to blame for your own actions! The press, the fans, the writers of crap like this...they aren't to blame! YOU and only YOU are responsible for your actions! It literally disgusts me when I hear of such tragedies as this.

mags1983-First of all, learn how to spell. Secondly, despite your poor grammar, made some sense. If you actually read what I wrote in previous comments I mentioned that I thought it was pathetic what people were saying "he's the next Downey Jr." etc...but by you saying "he's a person" and that you will pray for him and his family is a thoughtful and meaningful thing to say. You didn't go off on some rant about a bunch of bullshit (other than trying to put me down, which by the way didn't work)
Second comment that I enjoyed reading was Kristen's remark just above this one. Addiction is a disease, and ignorance is irresponsible. I am very well educated, but it appears that poor Brad was not. Maybe he should have checked out your website link.
One can only feel so bad for a person who abuses themselves, and takes advantage of the gifts they are granted. My whole point to all that I have written is exactly that. How can you feel bad for someone SO MUCH when you know in your heart that they caused their own misfortune?
