'American Idol' Disasters: Aretha Codner, Alberto Hurtado, Joshua Boson and DeAnna Prevatte

I actually thought Aretha wasn't THAT bad, she just couldn't cut it with that song. It's too hard of a song for anyone to do. I think if she sang a different song, she would have made it.

hmmm. so much puzzles me about this whole thing. one, it seems that due to keeping hold of the non-existent attention span of mainstream america, all have had to resort to more cruel and nasty responses.

two, i remember several years ago when the show first aired that despite how uncalled for the "brutal honesty" could be... they essentially were telling the truth regarding who could sing and who could not. Now, people such as Aretha and DeAnna who certainly don't have the strongest voices yet are certainly above average... are being told that they are horrendous. perhaps the truth hurts... but to be told untruths in such a hateful way... people could be seriously wounded in ways which could run deep.

three... the sudden boost of arrogance, condescention and hatefulness from all three now, not just Simon... does not logically follow regarding more winners having been dropped from labels than actually achieving long-lasting fame.

and finally... why would anyone with any actual talent or passion WANT to be an American Idol?? All the songs sound the same: tin-can and commercialized crap... so spiritless and forgetable...to me quite synonymous with the smell of a cheap plastic shower curtain.

No one seems to be paying attention to all of the nothing going on in the present day. Ugh...

This is the only time I watch the show--when the crazies come out.
