Here's Brooke Shields acting up a storm on the set of "Sex and the.........I mean "Lipstick Jungle". Before I get to Brooke, let me tell you about this show. Basically, Candace Bushnell wrote "Sex and the City" as a book of her columns or whatever. Then Darren Star produced the show and it became the cultural icon it is today. But it ended, as all good things should. But OF COURSE Darren and Candace separately wanted their fame and forture to continue so why not make like "Saved By The Bell: The New Class" and re-make "Sex and the City" but with different women? But both went off on their own and behind each other's back and did the same thing! So now these two former friends have competing shows! Darren has "Cashmere Mafia", which everyone tells me is terrible. Terrible like you read about. And now Candace is probably hoping her version, "Lipstick Jungle", will beat the ratings/critical crap out of "Cashmere Mafia" and take its lunch money and go on to Emmys and high Nielsens. I will say this. Candace has an ace in the hole. Brooke Shields. This lady is a national icon. I don't know how well she can act or anything, but she's as American as car jacking and apple pie. Plus, she was willing to let herself get humped over a desk on "Nip/Tuck" last season. So she seems like she'll gladly take one for the team. I vote for "Lipstick Jungle", sight unseen.
