CNN broadcast the debate for the Democratic presidental candidates last night, and is getting flack for tending to focus on which stars were in the audience. Frankly, with an ensemble like that, Diane Keaton deserves notice! That wacky gal will wear an afghan, a bowler hat, and the belt that lumberjacks wear when they climb trees and go out on the town. Flawless! Philadelphia Inquirer political columnist Dick Polman summed up the situation as "Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are on stage trying to talk about the everyday vicissitudes of the average Joe ... and, meanwhile, the cameras are focused on people who probably define "poverty" as the inability to afford a Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV. This kind of imagery hurts the Democrats in the heartland." He has a point. Who in the hell cares if Brandy showed up. That chick killed a bitch recently. Mistake or not, I'd still be in hiding.
