Like others have commented, Angelina's mother was born in the US. Chicago, to be exact. Her mother was of French Canadian decent, through her grandfather, Angelina's great grandfather. Which makes Angelina white and American, this must make her so angry! So in reality she should have her baby in Quebec to honor her mother. I guess Canada or the US aren't good enough for Angie.
By this logic, I should have all of my children in Great Britian, since my ancestors all hail from there.

kate: 'Great' Britain is a colonial and politically incorrect term. the correct term would be either a. Britian b. England c. United Kingdom d. Scotland etc depending on where your family hails from. My comment was rhetorical. You completely missed my point. The point is that Angelina is of French Canadian descent, which does not make her French. I am of British descent, which does not make me British. We are both Americans, as are both of our parents. Why would you move somewhere to give birth to honor to your mother, when she never even lived in France? I am sorry if this offended you, but seemed strange to me.

Frankly, I don't care where she has her child as it makes no difference in my life. I was simply making the point that having French Canadian ancestry does not make one French.

By the way, I am very aware of my ancestry. The countries of my ancestry include England, Wales, Scotland, N. Ireland, Australia, and Canada
(British Columbia).

but even better stated was the point you made. Angie's mom wasn't French, and never lived in France. And weren't they supposed to making their "permanent" home in New Orleans? Now they're abandoning THAT, too?

seems like par for the course for angie. She seems to be so unhappy (for lack of a better term) in her life that she's constantly looking for something "new" to fulfill her, whether a new child, a new man, or a new place to call home.

What is with all these small minded people resentful of Jolie-Pitt's moving? As a child I moved all over the US and spent 3 wonderful yrs in Germany, then on to Hawaii lastly Oklahoma. I was an Army-Brat and it neither hindered my education nor socialization. It was a fantastic experience as my parents made sure every where we traveled to "appreciate people BECAUSE of their differences. Whether we were eating schnitzle in Germany, delicious bread in France or rice and spam in Hawaii, we learned to love each and every place because they WERE DIFFERENT.
We 4 kids chose totally different professions, but mine was International Flight Attendant for 40 yrs. We also at times had nannies (rarely) and Mom worked as a registered nurse.

You all are so small minded, wherever this family moves their children will benefit, because clearly they as parents are very open minded, unlike you people.

For those of you who have referred to the Jolie-Pitt's as "Bitch" perhaps you could learn a lesson from them. They adopted children from other cultures, the presumption is they will educate them about their heritage. Travel is fundamentally one of the ways of learning about how others live.

No matter how you chose to stay in another country, hopefully you will attempt to learn something about it. Food, language, custom, perhaps making a friend.

To denigrate a person for making a choice to educate their children, whether it be of free choice, or thru their job choice, military, diplomatic, banking, technology, or any other. Millions of people chose to uproot their families and move to foreign countries.

Most find the experience for their children and themselves satisfing to say the least. I believe all this nonsense about Jolie's mother being Fench etc. is based upon foolish poeple who cannot get out of their pathetic lives, and offer nothing but slanderous words. I would be willing to bet all of the above commentors would be willing to accept a free trip to France just to see what it was like. Maybe, just maybe they would come back a little more educated and worldly.

We'll see how long that lasts. Can she even stay in a city for longer than 20 minutes before she's lugging the whole family off somewhere else?
