Ali Lohan chatted with Teen Vogue about the fact that she has clearly learned absolutely nothing from her sister's downward spiral that has resulted in substance abuse problems, public humiliation and her current status as a cautionary tale of young Hollywood gone bad. The younger Lohan sibling expressed her desire to be famous, saying, "I want it so bad."
She has said that watching the progression of her sister's career has actually encouraged her to take a stab at it herself. "I grew up watching Lindsay, and it made me want to do what she does. Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or onstage, with everybody listening to you...it's so cool when people look up to you. I've already been asked for my autograph, and it's just a really good feeling to have."
I feel obligated to thank Dina Lohan. The woman clearly wants to make sure that I keep working for at least the next ten years.

Maybe that's the trick. If you only want to be in the public eye for the sake of being known and watched and "looked up to", then you're there for the wrong reasons. Maybe that's why certain "celebrities" fall apart and go into these spectacular nose dives that destroy their careers. Other people in the public eye who have survived in the business - like Meryl Streep - seem to be in it for the sake of producing good work. We don't see her running around like Lindsay, do we?
