It has been confirmed by the UK Ministry of Defense that young Prince Harry has been seeing combat on the front lines of Afghanistan alongside other British troops. According to the Prince, "As far as I'm concerned I'm out here as a normal JTAC on the ground and not as Prince Harry." For two months, Harry had been in battle without media coverage after an agreement to keep the information mum had been made between British and international media due to security issues over the prince's safety.
However, it looks like a U.S. web site (not us) was the first to break the story and now I don't know if that means that he'll have to leave or what, but in any case, go Harry!
More photos of Prince Harry in Afghanistan are after the jump.

GossipGirl99 says:

Jinxy McDeath says:
It was that Neo Con asshole, Matt Drudge who outed Harry. Drudge is scum for putting Harry, and his whole group at risk, traitor.

OMG....he's sooo HOT! And that red hair just gets me sooo HOT also! I'd jump in Harry's foxhole anyday....YUM...Soooo HOT!!
myass says:
Seeing combat??? Please, if you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. Combat my ass.
Loob says:
I doubt he's actually in combat areas, because it puts everyone else at risk if he's there at all, and it's not worth it.
If the other side figures out who he is, they'll target him, maybe even kidnap him.
It just seems really foolish to involve him since he's just one guy and can easily be swapped out for another soldier with no monetary value.
D says:
Ok Loob and Myass (lol no pun intended) u have a point but... I believe that even if the powers-that-be won't let him, he really wanted to go there and be part of the effort. So I'll respect that.
Loob says:
Heheh yes, I'm not signing anything near Myass anymore. :D
May says:
Who's "brilliant" idea was to make all that public?!
It should be kept secret - now he'll be a target and all around him.
Idiots.
Loob says:
I agree May, I actually saw a newspaper say
"D-uuhh no one told us it was a secret."
It's COMMON SENSE to keep it a secret, you jackasses!
(To be honest, I added the "D-uuhh".)
May says:
@ Loob - They are taking him out. Somebody spill the beans.
Suz says:
As an American expat I have to say that I increasingly look at my country and shake my head. Americans think NOTHIING is sacred and outing Harry is beyond hubris.
Lucifer says:
This is such a PR move ... nevermind the convenient pictures proving that he is there but after 2 months the info is "leaked" & now he gets to come home early.
Anne says:
Yes it means he will have to come back. The site that ran the story has totally screwed up any chances the lad might have to do the job he trained for. Well done whoever they were. They messed with his safety and security and the safey and security of those who were serving with him. And all for the sake of a few column inches in this hideously obsessed celebrity culture we live in.
The MOD have ordered his immediate return.
gail says:
Big props to Harry for wanting to do what he has been trained for....and shame on whoever published the info.
Zekers says:
My understanding of how this was kept quiet since Christmas Eve is-deals were made with the media. The media agrees to be quiet, in exchange they get to interview him and take pictures while he is there. So, I guess is it somewhat of a "PR move" but with a twist.

Uhm America wasn't the one to first report it. Actually an Australian magazine, New Idea, that first reported, on January 7th, of Harry fighting in Afghanistan, then the second report, a week ago, was from Germany, then the US reported it yesterday. So, actually, the US was the third nation to report it.
