If Hilary Clinton had a video like this, who do you think would participate other than Barbra Striesand?

Thanks for posting that. It was great - pass it around!

Nothing about issues. Nothing substantive to back up the call for change. Nothing. Just a bunch of celebrities walking around shoving their silver spoons up everyones ass. Gimme a break.

Yes we can....ruin the economy....take from the rich and give to the poor....make our country defenseless and weak.....kill our unborn children. Look up partial BIRTH abortion--you will be sick to your stomach. Yep, sounds like a great plan to me!

Obama is sexy! Perez loves Hillary, fat boy can sing for her. I hope Obama wins, but that old dried up hag might make it.

Marigold, you're being ridiculous. Look up how many kids grow up from birth to adulthood in the adoption system without ever having a chance to be adopted (hint: a majority). You'll be sick to your stomach. Anyone who's staunchly anti-abortion needs to get out there and start adopting kids (especially older kids), or I lose all respect for them and their so-called "morals". And nobody ever said Obama was in favor of partial birth abortions (except in emergency cases, like when a mother's life is threatened after the first trimester).

Yes We Can RUIN THE WORLD with our tax and spend methods, anti-God stance, and trying to take care of all the lazy people who are able-bodied but won't work, at the expense of the middle class and those who work their trunks off. YES YOU CAN, OBAMA. If we let you. I WILL NOT!

March 1, 2008 5:43 PM

Real Christians know what this guy is about. Fake ones don't have the discerning eye.
The only way this country came to be the greatest country in the world with all the resources and wealth is by God blessing this nation. If we continue to ignore God's laws and warnings, we're doomed. Just wait. Huckabee is the best candidate to lead us on the right track. McCain would be second. Obama, Clinton = the wrong path for this nation.

Yes, because Bush has been SO good at taking care of the working class... And what's "anti-God" about Obama? Care to enlighten me on that?

Obama wants to make college affordable for everyone, by getting them to give back to the community through volunteering at homeless shelters, joining the peace corps, etc. And he's fighting for universal healthcare, which I sure could have used several months ago. Last year, I was rushed to the hospital because I had collapsed from chest pains. The doctors did a bunch of tests, but couldn't find anything wrong. They charged me $2,091. Now, I'm a very hard worker (I think it's fair to say I "work my trunks off". Sometimes I work 18 hour days, six days a week, if I'm under intense deadlines), but I couldn't afford full health insurance (my insurance will only pay up to $700 of an emergency room visit) because I'm self-employed, and much of my money goes back into the business to pay for the rental of commercial property, heat, electricity, water, internet, travel expenses, etc. Not to mention putting food on my plate. Due to this crazy bill, the collectors took it directly out of my checking account, and every check I had written in the past couple of months then bounced. I'm now in insane debt just because of that. Most of the free world has universal healthcare.

There's absolutely no good reason that anyone should lose everything they've worked so hard for because they've got a medical problem.

Again, what exactly is "anti-God" about Obama? That he wants equality for people? You do realize that he's a Christian, right? He seems an awful lot more Christian than Bush or McCain. How can any "Christian" smile and sing, "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" when that means killing tons of innocent civilians? Killing people is not something to smile about.

March 1, 2008 6:08 PM

Didn't communists and socialists want equality for everyone too? Doesn't mean it's a great thing or the best way to a free society - Lester.

March 1, 2008 6:10 PM

I'm a McCain supporter all the way!

Actually, our founding fathers wanted equality, as Thomas Jefferson used the phrase "all men are created equal," in our Declaration of Independence. When I say equality, I'm not suggesting that we pay everyone the same. I'm saying everyone deserves the rights to a good education, to healthcare, to marriage, to adoption. It's ridiculous that people can still die simply because they "can't afford to live."

It's also ridiculous that we--the leaders of the free world--still use cluster bombs (which are already banned by 150 nations), we torture people and hold them without any rights to a court of law (Guantanamo). Dudes, the rest of the free world is catching up to us. They're getting more rights than us. They're running their countries more efficiently, without as much debt, AND erradicating their homeless problems. We're a great country, but that means we need to hold ourselves to higher standards than we currently are.

March 1, 2008 6:29 PM

No free society is totally free or totally perfect. Look around, Lester, and if you see something better, please, move there. But you won't. Because there is no better place. It ain't perfect here but it's as good as it gets.
Some things are worth dying for and freedom to choose your religion is one of them. No person in an Islamic state is free. Sorry.

March 1, 2008 6:32 PM

That's about all Obama says is "Yes We Can". All the articles I've read on what he's done as far as legislation say the opposite. Guy hasn't actually done anything. Smoke & Mirrors.

My argument isn't that any other country is "perfect." My argument is that some countries are handling certain things in a better way than we are, and we can learn from them. Just because no nation is perfect doesn't mean that we shouldn't always strive to be better.

Please-- Obama helped create the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which provided over $100 million in tax cuts for working families. He helped expand early childhood education. He fought for the required videotaping of interrogations and confessions after a number of inmates on death row were proven innocent. He fought (along with Republican Tom Coburn) for the right of every American to see how their tax dollars were spent. He also led the fight in ethics reform that helped root out corruption in Congress.

He's fought to help veterans get the disability pay they were promised. He traveled to Russia (with Republican Dick Lugar) to help find and secure weapons of mass destruction around the world. He's fighting to bring auto makers, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians (both Democrats and Republicans) together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards for cars.

Oh, and he didn't vote to send us to this war.

Those are some of his accomplishments. If you want to say that he doesn't talk about his policies, go ahead and go to http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ where he explains his policies in great detail (much more than McCain or Huckabee or Clinton, in fact).

Someone before me, on another website put it well. I agree with him/her.

It reads:

"I say elect him. With the advanced video technology we have these days, we'll be able to clearly see the bullets hit his head the day he's elected and assassinated hours later. Then Oliver Stone won't be able to make another conspiracy movie."

March 1, 2008 7:36 PM

Smart people won't vote for Obama, only followers who can't see the wolf in sheep's clothing.

That's funny, because I'm a pretty smart guy. Explain why they wouldn't, and why he's a "wolf in sheep's clothing."

I never called any of you guys stupid, and I appreciate your right to believe and vote the way you do. It would be nice if you guys wouldn't settle for petty insults.

I'll be back in a bit. I'm baking a cheesecake for my church potluck tomorrow.

Man.... I really hope some of you folks can't vote as some of these comments are pure hate speech and arrogant ignorance. I agree with you all the way Lester. Obama is the best choice -- hands down.

March 1, 2008 10:01 PM

Matt and Lester and the only reasonable and dare I say, educated people in here. The rest are just being American - i e sheep - just following.... People like Too Tall actually believe what they say. Get out of your trailer and travel and see the world. It is not what you see on The O'Riley factor. When I went to America - Detroit to be specific - I just wanted a refund for my ticket. I was disgusted, felt robbed and could not believe my eyes and nose. I thought Ashton Kutcher had straight punked me! Was this supposed to be the developed world? I have never smelt poverty like that - and I come from Africa where u all think we swing from tree to tree!! I have never witnessed such misery. The people's eyes were blank and all I saw were liqour stores and chop shops!

Its a good thing you lot do not sound (seem) like you are eligible to vote yet - it could be a true catastrophe!

Now to answer the question.....the Video would have JAck NIcholson (naturally), Quincy Jones, Babra Streisand, Maya Angelou, Marlon Brando ....wait he is dead....ummmm who else *scratches head*...ahh whatever ...all the old people's homes will sing backup

I'm so sick of B HUSSEIN Obama I could puke. He's an empty Muslim suit.
B HUSSEIN Obama: bad for IL. Worse for the USA!!

March 2, 2008 8:19 AM

"No person in an Islamic state is free. Sorry."

I didn't know whether to laugh or take offense to this first. I'm glad he--or she--apologized.

Will.I.Am released a NEW OBAMA SONG on Friday and I put it on my blog!!!! I CRIED....

http://thee-biz.blogspot.com/2008/03/video-william-obama-we-are-ones.html

Thanks Matt and nit wit. I knew there were some people who agreed with me here! I do, however, think that a majority of America agrees with me. That's why the polls show Obama beating McCain 46% to 41%, and why way, way, way more people have donated to his campaign and shown up to caucuses and primaries to support the democrats than the republicans this year. I live in a red state (Alaska), and even we had much higher turnout at the democratic caucuses than the republican ones. In Anchorage, in fact, the parking lots were so full that some people had to walk up to 4 miles in twenty-below weather in order to show up to the democratic caucuses, and they had to extend the deadline by a few hours. I don't live in Anchorage, though; I live in a small-ass town, but even we had higher turnout. Probably 3x as much as the nearby republican caucus. There's hope for America, still :-)

The press is clearly slanted towards Obama. That alone should scare everyone here. Hillary Clinton won every debate yet the press is saying Obama won. That scares me in every way. It should scare you too. Censorship in any way is disturbing.

March 2, 2008 2:59 PM

I would like to think Hillary would have persons knowledgable in actual concepts relevant to national economic issues, matters of state, and foreign policies during wars in other nations, rather than Oprah, and other non-politically experience persons of celebrity. Who would you want to run your country? Oprah does NOT swing my opinion on matters of such relevance

March 2, 2008 3:51 PM

If Obama wins the nomination, I will not vote for him. I lived in Massachusetts for 5 years. During that time Deval Patrick was elected governor. He ran on the same platform of hope and change as Obama. In fact, Barack now shares Deval's campaign manager, and they have often "exchange" ideas. Deval's campaign was considered a dry run for Barack's presidency bid. Deval was voted overwhelmingly into office. Now two years later people are disappointed and disillusioned with him as governor. He has not been able to deliver on his promises: he has failed to reach across the aisle and he has dismantled the education system that is why Massachusetts went overwhelmingly to Hillary Clinton on Super Tuesday. If people are looking for transcendence in politics then they should go to church. Obama's message is just a farce to play on your emotions and get your vote.

It does not matter to me what anyone say. We can debate on who will be the best democratic nominee till kingdom come and it will not change who I will vote for. I agree with Lester and to be honest I am sick of people referring to Obama's supporters as "fans". As far as I am concern Hillary and Obama pretty much share the same ideas. What separate them them in my eyes and that of many of his "fans" is this thing that many posters do not see to care about which is Character and Integrity. Many claim that the media is soft on him. Why? Maybe because his political career has not been filled with scandal?
Do you really think that if the media found some damning gossip or scandal on Obama they will not publish it?

I think Bill Clinton has a better video for support of the candidate he believes in on youtube. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe0BPwWAxnk

Since the media is beating the no experience, no substance meme, let
me tell you not to buy it. The more I find out Obama, the more I
like him, it thrills me that he is going to be the next President. I
love the idea of that America.

Here is his Senate record, the BEEF if you will:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/21/164117/783/290/461422

Also recently Obama has been talking the language of jobs, America
desperately needs plenty of good jobs. Obama is offering them,
Hillary is not.

Obama is running a beautiful campaign, Clinton's ground game is
disorganized. State chairs are very impressed with how well Obama's
team works with local organizers. They aren't saying that about
Hillary's people. Turn the tv off, the only people that even have a
clue are Keith Olberman, Jon Stewart, David Letterman, Stephen
Colbert, NPR is also fine. The network news is almost complete
trash. They exist to confuse and distort. Turn that shit off, the
internet is your friend.

One more thing:

Hillary's insistence that certain states and votes don't matter is
insulting and undemocratic. Obama is the future and he is going to win
by a landslide.

Yes we can.

Barack has been a US senator since...2005! That's experience for ya.
H.Clinton tried to get us universal health care in 94 but was shot down by a republican congress.

Buried on page 59 of the indictment is a reference to one of many alleged kickbacks on a state contract that appears to have ended up as a $10,000 donation to an unnamed ''political candidate''. The kickback was allegedly arranged by Antoin ''Tony'' Rezko, a Syrian immigrant who became a powerful political fixer in Chicago (Snip) Mr Rezko is an old friend of Mr Obama who donated to his political career since his first campaign for the Illinois state senate in 1995.

Just reading the comment section shows me how ugly this election is going to get, no matter who the dem nom is. We will have the fire and brimstone holy rollers telling us we are going to die die die if we dont vote for another Repub (read corrupt) leader, and that Obama (because of the funny name) is a raging scary muslim, and Hilary, well, she is nothing but a bitch (read smart woman that the scares the crap out of stiff suit repubs). I'll mail in my vote, wake me when its over.

Oh, so nice discussion, and so reasonable comments Everyone should check out my upcoming show with my fabulous friends!. Check out my website! multiraciallove.com for interracial love and relationship.

"If one candidate is trying to scare you and the other one is trying to get you to think, if one candidate is appealing to your fears and the other one is appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope."

- Bill Clinton, 2004

The video is creepy. McCain is going to beat either one.
