Marion Cotillard Questions the Moon Landing and 9/11

I definitely agree that Marion misspoke on this particular issue, but I also think that the media has jumped on this and insinuated that she's anti-American.
The way I interpreted it was that she was questioning the role of the government in 9/11, not suggesting it never happened.
She's not the first person to bring up a conspiracy theory about 9/11 or the mood landing.

i agree. it seems like the media has just pounced on this without thoroughly understanding what she was trying to say. i think she was just saying that it was curious that the towers collpased so quickly...she's not saying it didn't happen.

but think of this logically, she's not the first person to say that, many people have been saying that from day one. didn't they suspect that there had been explosives in the basement or something? and that's why they went down so quickly? i don't know, a lot of people have built up theories around it.

First of all we should remember that she is an actress, she pretends to be other people for a living. Not exactly a profession which exudes intelligence, though that is not what actors would have you believe. As with most(not all) actors, they want to appear intelligent, thought-provoking, curious, etc....but sadly most of them are not made up of much substance and much less intelligence.

There have been so many conspiracy theories regarding 9/11 it is beginning to seem like the JFK assasination. There are also many people who claim the holocaust never occured, wonder what Marion's views are on this. Never mind, I don't care!

Honestly, I can not tell what the hell the girl is trying to convey. She compared the WTC and a fire that happened in Madrid. This is like comparing apples and oranges. The building in Madrid was 32 stories, not 100plus like the WTC. The fire in Madrid was NOT caused by planes crashing into the building(still am not clear if she is claiming no planes ever crashed into WTC). The building in Madrid did not take up an entire NYC block and they did not have structural damage, as the WTC did. There also were no planes with fuel in the Madrid fire to which she sites. The Madrid building also was reinforced with concrete and not steel(as was the case with the Twin Towers).
Her basis for her theory is that it would be to expensive to remodel the Twin Towers, so instead of controlled demolition where no one would have been killed, the govt decided to mass murder 3,000 people(or is she claiming that no one even died on 9/11?). Is she claiming the entire press core was in on the govt planning and cover-up of 9/11? We all know how much the meida loves GWB, Fox News perhaps, but they were not the only ones reporting on 9/11.

And last but not least, George Bush isn't clever enough to hatch a scheme like this. Cheney, others-maybe, but they had been in office for less than a year when 9/11 occured.

Sorry to be so long and rambling. In the end who really cares what this actress (or any other) has to say about 9/11, the moon, or anything else for that matter. I apologize for her to those who lost loved ones on 9/11. She must have been watching Rosie O'Donnell on The View last year, he,he (by the way Marion made the statements a year ago) and decided to try to impress the French with her anti-American views.

Yes, she is entitled to her opinion, as are the posters on this board. Her looks have nothing to do with it, it is her words with which some of us take issue. Unfortunately now that she has an Oscar, her opinions are going to be news. She expressed her view with no evidence to back it up, other than a vague reference to some fire "in Spain, I think". And she wanted to remind the French, she made the remarks on a French show, that she is not fooled one bit by stupid Americans.

By the way, Europeans hated Americans long before the Bush administration. It isn't just our government you hate. Europe's hatred is not a "new" phenomenon that only came about in the last eight years. This is the last I will post about this. Are there questions surrounding 9/11, yes there are. There are ALWAYS questions surrounding such disasters. Everyone's questions are not always answered to their satisfaction. Such is life and government, and not just the US govt.
Her remarks were insensitive to those who lost their lives on 9/11, and yes I have a friend who lost her husband.

Oh, and by the way. Yes, I have watched some of the 9/11 conspiracy documentaries and some of the debunking documentaries. Still not convinced of the conspiracy theorists validity.

I think it's right to research conspiacy theories...It wouldn't be the first time the government has lied to its people (I'm not attacking just the Bush administration but all administrations before him as well). I have a very good friend who's father is a pilot and he was certain that some guys who took flying lessons in a bunch of tiny prop jets in Florida could not operate a complicated cockpit like in those planes to such a specific degree. Now the question is: where did they get that complicated training? Probably by the Saudi Air Force.

I think her comments were dumb but some of the comments made above dont really help your arguements it just makes you sound xenophobic.
However, to reiterate she is an idiot to suggest the WTC was knocked down as some sort of insurance scam is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
