Adding to Amy Winehouse's current litany of problems is a bacterial skin infection on her face. Her rep has confirmed that the British singer is suffering from impetigo which, according to the Mayo Clinic's Web site, "is highly contagious, and scratching or touching the sores is likely to spread the infection to other parts of the body as well as to other people."
Currently, she's treating the condition with prescribed antibiotics and I love Amy and all and I know it's treatable, but for real, that shit sounds NASTY. I'm reminded of a cycle of Top Model, where everyone became convinced that Michelle the wrestler had the flesh-eating bacteria because her face appeared to be falling off and everyone was freaking out and now I'm worried that I might have the impetigo from all the typing I do about Amy. And you should be freaking out too, cause you're reading about it all the time.

uh...it's say a LOT about one's hygiene when an adult (who's not working in a third world country) develops impetigo.
simple personal hygiene can prevent it. Bathe daily and keep your cuts clean and covered. it ain't too hard.

She looks much better lately, healthier, even her skin! Crack smoking outdoes impetigo any day in what it does to your skin apparently.

Why is it everytime I see her picture I feel like a need to scratch my skin and bathe?
joni says:
..anyone can get impetigo, the prime
minister can get impetigo, the president
can get impetigo...

In fact, Lisa, impetigo is what Michelle got on ANTM. This shit scares me. If someone I knew got that, I would be wearing like a hazmat suit everywhere.
