We've just learned from the National Enquirer that actor Patrick Swayze has been receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer and the disease has reportedly spread so much that doctors have given him only five weeks to live. Diagnosed in late January, the "Dirty Dancing" star has been visiting the Stanford University cancer center in Palo Alto for the past month, however his prognosis is very grim.
A source revealed to the tabloid, "He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure." After receiving three doses of chemotherapy, his tumor had not shrunk as much as doctors were hoping it would and Patrick has dropped 20 lbs. in the past few weeks during his treatment.
I really hope this is bogus.
UPDATE: People has published as statement from Patrick Swayze's : "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far," Dr. George Fisher says in a statement. "All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic."

you people are really monsters. if that were true, the last thing he'd need is this kind of "news" being talked about on such websites
devil says:
I hope this is just more of the Enquirer's nonsense. Pancreatic cancer is nothing to make light about. It's not operable or very responsive to any treatment.
T-Bone says:
If this is false, tabloid journalists ought to be ashamed of themselves for writing something like this, and the Enquirer should be run out of business.
If this is true, it's a terrible tragedy.
tootsie says:
If it is true then it is actually NEWS not just tabloid rumor. Even though it may carry that cloak. I for one appreciate the chance to send some good thoughts and prayers his way.
rootabega says:

Applespice says:
I don't believe anything that usually comes from the Enquire, but major news outlets are starting to pick this up and their is STILL no response from his side...
Makes one wonder.
Romary says:
couldn't Nat Eng take a pass for once?
Chaz says:
The Enquirer is forever making shit up about celebrity breakups and hookups, but when it comes to disease they're usually pretty accurate (thinking back to Andy Kaufman here), because the consequences for being wrong are higher.
That's got to be right up there with the scariest things to have: virtually no symptoms and almost no chance of survival once you're diagnosed. Horrible news.
mdu says:
if this is true we will take a great loss good luck patrick your an excellent actor my prayers are with u
