Jodie Foster is facing troubles from yet another stalker. According to an FBI affidavit, it was first back in 2004 that Michael Smegal started mailing letters to Jodie Foster. In one of the letters, a pre-paid cell phone had been included along with a note instructing Foster to call a number. When her security guard phoned the number, Michael Smegal identified himself and also sent a picture of himself and his dog to Jodie via the cellphone.
In 2005, Smegal was visited by a postal inspector to whom he admitted that he'd sent the letters and at that point, Smegal agreed to stop. Well, someone should have taken away his stationery because he then started sending threatening letters to the Van Nuys Airport. Between September 2007 and January 2008, he sent over 100 letters. The FBI affidavit says that each letter said, "Jodie Foster S" and "going to be a gas bomb in this building."
And who says letter-writing is a lost art?
