So you may have heard of Ashley Alexandra Dupre', aka "Kristen". She's the hooker that former New York governor Elliot Spitzer confessed to rolling around with which led to his resignation. More details about her background are coming to light.
She originally hails from a broken home on the Jersey shore, and had a hard time getting past her parents' divorce, sources say. She moved to live with her father in South Carolina when she was 17 and left for NYC after high school. Ashley's big dream was to become a singer but she ended up making money on her back. I'm sure it paid well.
Something else that's paying well lately is her music. She has uploaded two songs to song sharing site Amie Street and may have made over $200,000 in downloads. This all due to f*cking the governor! You can hear one of those songs on her MySpace page here. It's not horrifyingly bad. She's got Heidi Montag beat. Ashley has also been offered one million to pose for Hustler. Seriously, if this is what a political sex scandal does for you, I'm going after my local selectman.

I love all these bozos claiming that she's a "nice girl who made a mistake". No. Overdrawing on your bank account is a mistake. Forgetting to pay for the case of Diet Coke in the bottom of your shopping cart is a mistake. Hell, even wrecking your car while drunk is a mistake. But whoring yourself out under the guise of building a music career?...just means you're a whore. Sorry. I do think prostitution is a victimless crime and should be legalized. But I still wouldn't want my daughter to be a whore, and I would kill my husband if he ever used one himself.
AlliBaba1234 says:
...where am I? Oh, sorry, fell into a deep sleep listening to that song...
"I do think prostitution is a victimless crime..."
I think the millions of trafficked women the world over would have something to say about that. Even if a john asked them straight up if they were forced to do this (which they usually don't, because they usually don't give a crap), they would not admit it because they are beaten/raped/tortured if they don't make their quotas. And I don't know how YOU feel, but I would HATE to be one of the women who gets a raging case of genital herpes or a virulent strain of HPV from even the expensive ladies- both of which are still transmitted WITH condoms, ABSENT of an outbreak.
les says:
Victimless?
What if the spouse of a person who visits a prostitute gets an STD, what if he or she spends money that should go to the family, what about the prostitute, herself/himself? Do you honestly believe the Spitzer children and wife are not victims in all this?
Zelda - by saying you wouldn't want your kid to be one or your husband to use one means YOU would be a victim if this happened. I am speechless.
AlliBaba1234 says:
Uh, that should read...
"I would HATE to be one of the women who gets a raging case of genital herpes or a virulent strain of HPV from *HER HUSBAND FREQUENTING* even the expensive ladies..."
And just to clear it up before it's said, legalizing it will NOT stop trafficking.
Sasha says:
I heard she did not come from a broken home. SHe just ran away. Divorce is not a broken home. She was not forced to be a whore.
She found out she could sing when someone she new burst in the bathroom while she was singing did they get a freebie for the comment.
Zelda says:
Kidnapping women and/or forcing them to engage in sexual prostitution is a terrible thing and should not ever happen. It is a crime (kidnapping, coercion). Prostitution as a voluntary exchange of goods and services between two individuals is not, in my opinion, a crime. While I find it disgusting morally that a person might engage in unsafe sex with a prostitute and bring a disease to his or her partner, that does not mean that prostitution should be considered a criminal act.
Decriminalizing prostitution would not mean decriminalizing the sale of men and women against their will. If a person chooses to sell his or her sexuality, I have no objection to that. I object to the use of taxpayer dollars to investigate and prosecute people like Eliot Spitzer and the prostitutes with whom he dealt. How did they hurt anyone by engaging in prostitution? And don't tell me he hurt his wife; I know he did, but Uncle Sam is not crusading for the wives of men who use prostitutes.
thatgirlshines says:
if prostitution were legal, we could ensure all the women who are in the sex industry would be paid, provided with health care and protected from being beaten, raped and even kidnapped and forced into the industry. but that still wouldn't stop human trafficking.
BUT ALSO, the industry could be taxed and regulated like any other kind of industry, governed by laws and tax compliance codes, i.e. requiring it to keep records of transactions, etc., which would make it harder for politicians, clergymen and other "important" people from engaging in that kind of behaviour.
i do, however, find it astonishing how everyone is outraged that he paid prostitutes for bareback sex. really? isn't it part of the job description when you're in politics? what would be really shocking to me is if a politician actually fought corruption and did NOT succumb to corruption.
it would be nice, i'm just sayin'.
Zelda F. says:
I just want to remind people there are 2 Zelda's; I'm Zelda F.
In some cases prostution is NOT a victimless crime; look at the young innocents around the world, especially, Asia sold into it without a choice. But then look at this girl, and I'm pretty damn sure it was HER CHOICE to be a prostitute. To bag lots of money fast, and now her 15 minutes of fame to further her "singing career". Anyway, I still say this girl is a whore (she had sex for money, there's the definition right there) and Spitzer is a scum bag for using her and exposing his wife to any potential STD's, not to mention what his poor children and the rest of his family must be going thru.
Zelda says:
Sorry for the ID confusion, Zelda F. Not intending to impersonate you or anything...just my nickname since I was a little kid :)
Shaketta says:
Just throwing it out there (for accurate reporting sake), she is NOT from a broken home. She grew up with money her father was an Oral Surgeon. She did not HAVE to become a prostitute. All the peddling her PR people are doing about her "broken home" is FALSE..
Paige says:
This chick is just a spoiled, lazy, musically untalented waste of space. I can only locically assume that all her song downloads are due to curiosity, because the 2 song clips I heard of hers are absolutely atrocious.
Zelda F. says:
No problem Zelda, back atcha girl, didn't think you were impersonating, we just have the same name, that's all :-)
