Here's Johnny Depp on the set of Public Enemies. Depp is playing famed gangster John Dillinger in the next epic crime saga directed by Michael Mann.
The film also stars Oscar-winning Frenchwoman and 9/11 conspiracy theorist Marion Cotillard, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Dorff and Christian Bale. Bale plays Melvin Purvis, Dillinger's arch enemy. This sounds like it's going to be hot. I know the one scene in Mann's Heat where De Niro and Pacino met in the coffee shop was a letdown but the rest of it was boss.
It's just so refreshing to see Depp look like a human being and not a gay pirate, chocolate factory poofter, or serial-killing barber. He needed a break from Tim Burton's mindspace.
