One member of the Gossip Girl cast has either left or quit, depending on which story you believe.
Back in the beginning of the series, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) had two sidekicks -- who were pretty much the only minorities on the show.
The Asian one, played by Nan Zhang, will not be on the show anymore. The creator of the show says that Nan decided to go back to school at Brown University. Before Gossip Girl she attended Tulane, and Johns Hopkins to study neuroscience.
Rumors are flying that the cut was the result of star Leighton Meester, who didn't like the girl and had her removed from the show.
The shows reps deny that Leighton had anything to do with the changes -- but maybe Miss Meester has a hard time getting out of that catty character when the camera isn't on, and is finding herself moving closer and closer to Diva-ville as the show's popularity keeps growing...
Let's hope not. With Mimi still around, there's plenty of diva in the world already.

Hurray!! now if the other one would just leave to show. Those sidekicks were the lamest/cornballiest part of the show I just pretend they aren't there most of the time anyway

They are there as comic relief and are not allowed to steal spotlight from the main characters, that's why the producers won't let them speak.
