Watch out, Xenu! One of your former followers has a complaint to lodge! This is Jason Beghe. He's a vaguely familiar actor who was in G.I. Jane, and various TV shows like Melrose Place, Numb3rs, and C.S.I. He was deeply involved in Scientology, but has escaped the clutches of Tom Cruise and Co. And bitch is mad!

Beghe made this video, which is reported to be a short section of a longer one, to expose Scientology as "destructive and a rip-off." No shit, Harriet the Spy! This video is really odd because he is still obviously deep into the L. Ron Hubbard lingo and I have no clue what he's saying at some points. He talks about "clears" and "levels" and it sounds so bizarre that you have to wonder what the eff the people involved in this shit are thinking. I just hope this ho doesn't end up hanging from a shower rod. Scientology critics don't have a long shelf life.

I know where I know him! He's in that movie where he's the quadriplegic and the monkey tries to kill him! Pure Oscar magic!

Yes! That's exactly the movie I know him from, too! :D

This scientology thing reminds me of this one time a friend invited me to a meeting after work, that was about a supposedly brilliant way to become independantly wealthy and fulfil all your dreams and stuff, and it ended up being an AMWAY meeting.
She very carefully never told me that ahead of time.

Lindsay Lohan needs a job, and Jason Beghe will now need a food taster. It's a win-win!

I lost a girlfriend to that crap. They put an emotional wedge between members' friends and family.

I had a boyfriend in the late 70's who got into an est-like program called Lifespring, which was as dangerous as $cientology. The guy's probably still into shit like that.

I think Scientology is pretty much a science fiction writer's answer to looking at the other tax subsidized equally ridiculous religions which also believe in space aliens ruling us (they call them gods though) and saying "hey, I want tax exemptions too!"

:-)

I would be very careful inviting this guy to Anonymous protests or parties. He COULD be a double-agent.

"Harriet the Spy" reference had me rollin'

I was in it and recently got out. I actually got to work behind the scenes at one point. I did not like what I saw. This made me completely divorce myself from the institution. They are extremely intense and controlling. They are very persistant. Once you leave, which you never really can as you will continue to get calls, mail, pop ups, and emails constantly, you do seem a little out of sorts with yourself, as though something in you has changed. Weird. Anyway, there are some nice people who work and study with them, but it was too intense for me. Glad he got out. Glad I got out before I gave too many years and too much money away.
