Everyone has been noting the similarities between Mariah Carey and new up-and-comer Leona Lewis and Mimi is pissed.
'Honestly, there has been so many, "This is the new her," and I'm like, 'OK, show me the new her. Can she come and work for me and be my double? And I'm not particular talking about this girl Leona, because I only heard her once and I didn't really hear a true similarity, particularly in the style of music.'
Mariah later added, 'It is what it is and critics have compared me to so many people who are not really singers, and they're certainly not writers.'
Girl, did you just say that Leona is not a singer?
I'm pretty sure she just knocked your ass out of the top spot on the charts.

They do not sound alike. They have their own style. Leona is an amazing singer as is Mariah. Let's compare their attitudes though. Leona is sweet, humble and very innocent. But Mariah is arrogant and self absorbed, and it is very apparent by her comments about Leona. I sense a lot of jealousy there and she cannot deny that. And Leona sounds so much better live than Mariah. She is one of those singers that really gives her all to her performances. Sadly Mariah's vocals are all starting to sound the same to me. Its great to hear fresh new music, Mariah is not and never will be the end all or be all of music. Her songs are so teeny boppy now its not even funny. and I am tired of hearing her scream in songs.

It's amazing that Mariah can still crank out the hits after all this time. Loving You Long Time is THE summer song. Leona's great, but comparing to her to Mariah is crazy.
