Rumors are swirling like the crack smoke around Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse about the possibility of a Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon engagement. Hence Jake's facial expression. No one should have to marry their favorite shopping partner. They're a companion for outlet shopping sprees! Not life!
A source says that Jake and Reese are thinking of taking the plunge.
"They've been talking marriage for a while. They'll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together," the source reports.
Apparently, Witherspoon wants to make things official for the sake of her two children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe - Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4.
"This is a very serious relationship. But Reese is very conservative and traditional. I'm sure she doesn't want her kids to see her 'living in sin'," the "friend of the actress" says. Jesus, take your habit and wimple off, Reese. It's 2008. She probably calls her breasts "dirtypillows", too.

if Reese is very traditional and conservative , there may well be no hanky panky before the sacrament is taken. And then it's too late. Although, if she's that conservative, why did she get divorced in the first place. She would have stuck it out till the bitter end.

I just don't understand this one. I've always thought it was an "open secret" in Hollywood that Jake was gay. Ted Casablancas has all but admitted that Jake is "Toothy Tile" in his blind items. So why would someone who seems as level-headed as Reese want to be a beard for someone - especially when it would involve bringing her children into the picture? Even if he is bi-sexual, she seems too conservative to go for that. She is too successful to need the publicity. All of this leaves me wondering if it is at possible that Jake is actually straight - but I can't quite buy it.

I was married once before and got married again and am extremely happy and I am not a celebrity. Also, she got divorced because her husband cheated on her quite publicly.

Or did you just "forget" about Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch & pathetically playing the supposed role of a man in love professing his new undying love for a young Ms. Katie Holmes? Then, before the dumb-founded Ms. Holmes was able to catch her breath or escape old Tom rushes her into an engagement. Next, supposedly old Tom who doesn't really like ladies gets her preggers (believe me there are many who remain skeptical including yours truly about dear innocent Suri's paternity.) Even if Jake plays for both "teams", I think he will be better choice for Reese b/c her children seem to really like him & where else can you get a shopping partner who loves the very same things you do & more?
