My favorite crazy celebrity Irish father, Alec Baldwin, reportedly was hosting his own personal roast of his ex-wife at a private party held to celebrate the launch of his new book. Entitled A Promise to Ourselves: Fatherhood, Divorce and Family Law, the tome is his take on the court system, most specifically his experience as a father involved in a custody battle.
At the party, Baldwin referred to Kim Basinger, with whom he's been embroiled in a very public, very painful custody battle, "My ex-wife reaches an almost sexual level of satisfaction when she's in a room full of highpriced lawyers." But Kim wasn't his only target. The 30 Rock actor also said, "There are serious repercussions for children living in a fatherless home. I won't name names - Lindsay Lohan!"
Go, he's so Jack Donaghy. I imagine he was wearing a tuxedo, while delivering this quip, a pointed index finger in one hand and a Scotch on the rocks in the other.

"Schwety balls..."
DD says:
He's over the top with bitterness, but I get what he's saying. That crap can turn you inside out, and the law is soooo on the woman's side. It's wrong.
les says:
I think he is hilarious. I could not care less about his private life - he is entertaining!
T-Bone says:
He's right about the importance of fathers in children's lives; however, if he thinks abusive fathers hold the same clout as good fathers, he's sadly mistaken. I'd rather a child be raised by a nice, caring pack of wolves than a mean-spirited, physically and verbally abusive parent.
peachpie says:
lol Zekers! i love that skit!
and speaking as someone who's been through a bitter, bitter, bitter custody battle where the mother was an idiot and the father was just a regular joe -- and watched this regular joe just be destroyed by the court system and its bias towards mothers -- i'm ALL FOR this book. it's absurd that fathers have as few rights as they do. i'm neither defending nor condemning mr. baldwin -- as i have no way to judge the sitch, since no one but them has all the pertinent info -- but yay for him for saying, on behalf of all fathers, enough is e-fucking-nough with the mother's rights bullshit. and there's my possibly over-heated .02

Man, regardless of if hes right or wrong, I would not want to piss off Alec Baldwin. He seems like he could kill you in his sleep. A master of the slow burn. i think they talked about his book at celebrityprayerlist.com
krystyn says:
Christ, if you all could have heard some of the things my parents said to me when I was young. Ease up a bit folks, he was wrong to have yelled at her like that, but the man is human.
And lay off the Irish, we're not all jowly alcoholics, thanks.
Jeanie says:
I agree, Krystyn. Parents say say all sorts of things they don't mean when they are angry. I can only imagine what it would be like to have someone you loathe have custody of your child. I have a guy friend who did win majority custody of his child after many court ordered evaluations of his versus her parenting skills. His ex is so toxic their daughter cries every Friday when she is returned to her mother. Family court, like everything, really varies from judge to judge, unfortunately.

Best. Title. Ever.
