First off, Vanity Fair published an in-depth article about Bill Clinton by Todd Purdum. In it the author hints that the former president's behavior in the past few years has been quite frisky, mentioning "more recent high-end Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California."
The quote had both Gershon and Clinton up in arms, with the Bound star demanding through her lawyers from the law firm Lavely & Singer (the same firm dealing with this mess) that a retraction be printed, as well as a correction to the story. Gershon's camp claims that the piece "outrageously insinuates that Ms. Gershon has had an inappropriate sexual relationship with President Clinton. This is absolutely false."
As for the former president, his reaction was just as vehement, calling Purdum "sleazy," "dishonest," "slimy" and "a scumbag." Since then, wife/presidential hopeful Hillary has apologized via her campaign for the remarks, which she claims were "inappropriate."
But really, what would this election be without a good, old-fashioned Clinton sex scandal?

Vanity Fair made a multi million dollar pay out a few years back when it accused Gary Condit of murdering that girl in D.C. and of course we later found out a homeless person killed her.
Vanity Fair crossed the line again with this article stating rumor as fact. The idea of Clinton and Gershon together is so absurd. I hope Gershon milks them for this.
Amy says:
I read the article today and you are taking it out of context. Yes, there were tabloid rumors about these two recently. The article merely said that Clinton aides were annoyed/concerned with tabloid rumors (including this one).
It also followed this by saying that the rumors were never substantiated! It's a LONG article and the sexual stuff is a tiny little blurb.
say what? says:
um, they never solved the case of "that girl in DC". They never determined who murdered her.
and "that girl's" name is Chandra Levy. Have a little respect, huh?

i'd have to agree with saywhat? and Amy. i've read the article and it's such a small part of the entire article....and.... VF never said or insinuated they had sexual relations, only that staffers were concerned about the rumors. classic case of 'blown out of proportion'. disappointed in gershon -- she should just forget about it, appreciate the free publicity in VF (and now EVERYwhere else too) and move on.
