Kim Cattrall, fresh off the success of the the Sex and the City movie, has signed a deal to star in her own HBO series. Kim will play (no way, really?) a middle-aged wife and mother who rediscovers her sexuality and place in the world.
The series will be a re-make of a British series that starred Joanna Lumley called Second Skin. Why does everything good come from Britain? Joanna Lumley, Jarvis Cocker, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost, glam rock, Victoria Beckham...wait, scratch that.
In order for her to reprise her role as slutty whore Samantha Jones in the SATC movie (and yes, I'm using gay acronyms now) Kim insisted that HBO give her a producing deal and this is the first result. Kim also appeared in and executive produced a program for HBO in 2004 called Sexual Intelligence. Stick with what you know, Kim.
KIm, who lives in England, recently appeared in an ITV television movie called My Boy Jack. Didn't she also play Britney's mom in Crossroads? Hot. She can do anything.

Kim is hardly a slag, and I commend her for being open and unashamed of her sexuality. She takes on characters and rolls that others are afraid to do, and she gives them heart and soul.
She's one of my favorite actresses, and I can't wait to see her in her next role!

Dear God, put the clothes back on, honey! Ugh! That last scene in the SATC movie when you can see her whole back-frightening. I threw up a little. Another layer of Vaseline on the lens would have done us all well.

Sensitive Skin wasn't a comedy, although it had funny moments, and it was a very low key drama based on some difficult life events. Joanna Lumley is a great actress and Kim's career would benefit from playing the role as quietly as she inhabited it; people would see her range if she has one.
