According to a new unauthorized biography Britney Spears tried to kill herself
on two separate occasions. Author Ian Halperin, who also wrote books on
Celine Dion and Kurt Cobain, researched the popstar's life undercover
as a photographer for a year and a half.
He claims that, "I spoke with her many times and went to her house," later adding, "I will say the suicide attempts are true. I know all the details about both of them."
Another insider backs up Ian's claims saying that Britney's problems began in September 2006.
The source said, "It really became an issue once Jayden was born and it became clear Britney's marriage to Kevin was crumbling."
Now that troubled singer's life is strictly controlled by her parents, the court, and a team of doctors and handlers, the insider says her friend has lost her sparkle.
"She's like a zombie now. She's a shell of her old self," they said.
Britney left LAX this morning with both her father and brother at her side. I'm hoping that there's still a bit of sparkle left in her yet, and maybe she just didn't have time to stop by Starbucks before getting to the airport. Otherwise, zombie might be dead on.

She looks like she's hiding her belly. Pregnant from who?
Britney says:
Is Britney preggers? OMG!~She absolutely needs help, not a baby! She had better go to Richromances.com and continue her journey to real love~~I am so sad that she has not login that site for three weeks.

The comment "she's a shell of her old self"/"zombie-like" is indicative of anti-psychotic side effects. I have a daughter who has had this exact side effect from anti-psychotics in the past. Further, anti-psychotics, depending on whether they're old school or one of the newer generation, can cause weight gain. A psychiatrist said to me about six months ago regarding Clozaril that they can cause an "uncommon hunger." So if she's looking heavier, that is very possibly the reason. Not pregnancy.

I hope she succeed the third time.

I'm rooting for our Brit Brit too. The girl has been to hell and back and I am really glad to see her Dad stepping in and taking over a situation that had spriralled out of control, and putting her back on an even keel.
You Go Girl, you'll get your Sparkle back again.
T-Bone says:
Right on, Lulu -- if she is truly bipolar, the meds to curb that disorder can cause a zombie-like state AND weight gain. Bipolar people sometimes struggle with meds, because they like the manic high feeling so much that it's actually hard to deal with feeling steady and balanced. And let's face it, in the manic phase, some bipolar folks are highly charismatic and attractive to other people. Who wants to lose that? But unfortunately, with those high highs comes the "I can do anything I want" mentality, and THAT'S what gets them into gambling debts, risky s*xual situations, destructive friendships, chemical addictions and all kinds of bad stuff. So here's hoping Brit stays on her meds and continues to work through her disorder in a healthy, educated way.
