Janet Jackson just announced
that she will be executive producing her own reality show competition
on MTV. The show will feature singers and dancers who will be mentored
by Janet herself.
But don't expect the program to start off with large numbers of auditions from vying contestants. The casting will take place in random locations such as YMCAs, church groups and local community centers. Then the chosen performers will compete in various street locales.
"It's really about finding who's the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher," said producer Dave Broome.
I don't know if they will ever find anyone who will be the next Janet, but who knows. I never thought they would find the next Mariah Carey through a reality competition either.
