Angelina Jolie has given birth to a girl and a boy. The obstetrician who delivered the twins, Dr. Michel Sussmann, told The Associated Press that the actress, the babies and Jolie's partner, Brad Pitt, "are doing marvelously well."
Sussmann said Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Caesarean section on Saturday night.
He told the AP on Sunday morning that the boy weighed just over 5 pounds and the girl 5 pounds. The 33-year-old actress gave birth at around 8 p.m. on Saturday night, the doctor told the AP by telephone.
Pitt was there during the operation, said the doctor, who delivered the twins at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France. "Everything is going well," said Sussmann. "The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well."
He said the Caesarean was moved forward from its originally planned date "for medical reasons" so that the babies could be born "in the best conditions." Sussman did not give details.
He said Jolie is expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days.

The hospital's spokesperson, Nadine Bauer, said that journalists would not be notified ''within minutes'' after the birth and that the only way they would be told was by a press release posted on the hospital Web site. Another insider adds that Angelina is expected to leave the hospital with her newborns within 48 hours.
This brings the Jolie-Pitt child count up to six! It looks like it's time to hire another nanny!

Earlier in the day, french newspaper Nice-Matin quoted Jolie’s gynaecologist, saying that the actress did indeed give birth to a boy and girl, via casarian. Up until now, nothing was officially confirmed.
Jolie’s lawyers did the same thing when their first bioligical daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, was born back in 2006 - within minutes of the birth, her legal team snapped up several domains featuring different variations of Shiloh’s name.
Congrats to Brad and Angelina, about time those babies popped out!

An added comment. I rarely lose my temper but what I read was a little to much considering what has happened today. You are talking about two people who do difficult jobs. If you could do it, just being able to run like anyone else to the store for a gallon of milk would be a luxury. Questioning their love for their children was the final straw. These people are parents with children and no amount of money changes that. The feelings, maternal and paternal, are there just the same. The majority of as are wired for them just the same.
