Bernie Mac will be sadly missed after his death from pneumonia early Saturday morning. His peers and former co-stars have all spoken out about the entertainment industry's tragic loss including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Luke Wilson, George Lopez, and even Samuel L. Jackson who stars along with him in this Fall's comedy film Soul Men.
But what exactly happened to Bernie? According to his sister-in-law, ""He struggled for his life. He couldn't breathe."
Bernie was in remission from a lung disease called sarcoidosis, which had him on immune-suppressing drugs causing the infection. He was in intensive care since being admitted on July 24 for pneumonia. He was kept sedated most of the time, and while in the hospital contracted a second strain of pneumonia. He went into cardiac arrest twice that Saturday morning.
Bernie was married to his wife Rhonda for 30 years. Both she and his daughter were at his bedside until the end of his battle with the common sickness.

I just wanted to say I mis Bernie so much I feel like I lost a family member,I watch his show everyday just for a good laugh.I love his show he seemed like he was so down to earth,although it has not been a year I still mis him I still want to cry when I think of him I brought his collection of the Bernie Mac show and I hope they sell another volume so I can get it also just some of the words he use to say like chillax,bust your head to the white meat shows crack's me up I loved this man R.I.P I'll always remember you in my heart and in my mind.
