This has been a bummer of a weekend. We recently learned that Bernie Mac's fans, friends and family lost the comedian to pneumonia. And now, we've lost another legend to what appear to be natural causes.
65-year-old actor Isaac Hayes sang the "Theme from Shaft," winning both an Oscar and a Grammy for the 1971 soundtrack theme. Hayes was found in his home near a running treadmill by a relative. Unresponsive, he was taken to the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead.
A history of high blood pressure plagued the South Park actor, who suffered a mild stroke in January 2006. It's not believed that there was any foul play involved.
Hayes and his trademark voice will be sorely missed.
