According to The Sun, Madonna had been trying for a year to adopt three-year-old Mercy James of Malawi when her marriage hit the skids and put her adoption plans on hold.
However, it looks like Madge is now moving full steam ahead with her plans to take home her second Malawi child. Divorce be damned! Sources close to the Hard Candy singer (her brother, maybe?) dished that Madonna sensed her relationship with her husband Guy Ritchie was crumbling and focused all her energy on mending fences with him (i.e. she stopped banging A-Rod) but has now turned her attention back toward Mercy.
The little girl's grandmother is very much against the idea and has said, "Twice I have told the adoption people that I do not want Mercy to go outside the country. But they keep on at us. Now they say that Mercy will be leaving us, but can return at age 18. Yet I might not be alive then."
Lady, you might not be alive for five more minutes if you insist on standing in the way of Madonna and her Madoption. She's got a yoga move she's been practicing for years that makes her able to kill a person using only the muscles in between her toes.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Guy against the first adoption? Maybe, just maybe, that is part of the reason why their relationship isn't so hot right now. Adopting another kid isn't going to magically fix any of the problems they're having.
