"All of us [are] driven by the simple belief that the world as it is just won't do - that we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be," she said. "And that is the thread that connects our hearts. That is the thread that runs through my journey and Barack's journey and so many other improbable journeys that have brought us here tonight, where the current of history meets this new tide of hope. And you see, that is why I love this country."
Michelle underwent some fire earlier in Obama's
campaign for making some sort of statement saying that her husband's
campaign for president was the first time she's been proud of the US.
It was later explained that she meant she had never been prouder. So
last night was definitely her chance to clear shit up. Which she seems
to have done. If you're into her.

Chrissy says:
Michelle is a very classy lady.
Lola says:
I lost any respect for her when she complained about having to pay off her student loans.

Yuck. Give me a break. Get over yourself honey.
pebbles says:
first, let me say that i am voting for Barack, but damn, this woman reminds me of that Omarosa woman...........
TC says:
No matter what kind of spin she/they put on it last night, I still think she is an ungrateful, angry person who really, really doesn't like/recognize anyone who is not of her own race.
Plain and simple she wants her husband to be president and herself to first lady. Nothing wrong with that. Just be honest (isn't that her husbands whole shtick?), I've heard and remembered her other numerous comments over the last few months and thought her speech last night was a propaganda contrived farce.
BTW, I am a registered Democrat.

Michelle O. is a strong woman and people can't stand that. She's pro-woman, pro-family and pro-America. Beautiful and strong and human. Her speech was near perfect.
Hillary is on right now and is kicking major ass.
Go Dems!!!
you're kidding, right? says:
"I still think she is an ungrateful, angry person who really, really doesn't like/recognize anyone who is not of her own race."
curious...what makes you say that?
T-Bone says:
I'm with Angelina ...entirely. And partially with TC, as well. I think Michelle Obama was saying EXACTLY how she really felt when she said "For the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my country". This from a woman who has had more opportunity than most of us, including her Ivy League schooling and her very, very lucrative career. Nothing in America to be proud of, Michelle? Nothing at all? Well I can think of thousands of things I'm proud of. There are some things I'm certainly not proud of -- slavery, blatant racism, our poor response to Katrina, and much more, but if this witch can't think of a thing to be proud of in her entire "adult life", she should not be this country's first lady.
get over it says:
yeah, and a guy who doesn't know how many houses he owns should not be this country's president. Nor should a guy who refers to countries that don't exist anymore. Nor should a guy who doesn't know that Iraq and Afghanistan don't share a border.
but then again, a guy who says things like "put food on your family" and "hold other countries hostile" and "Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?" and "They misunderestimated me." shouldn't be president either, and look what we've got.
krystyn says:
it still amazes me that people still see Pro-CHOICE as pro-abortion. Stop spinning words.
Its about the CHOICE. Period.
and you know what? None of you have ever said something you may have regretted? NONE OF YOU? Stop it. You just sound ignorant now.
She's not proud of this country now. Neither am I and dare call me unpatriotic. Sure, I'm proud of parts of it. But the country as a whole picture, with its disgusting fear of anyone who is not WHITE and CHRISTIAN and who elects leaders that reflect that??? FVCK NO! And anyone who is, is no American.
and if Michelle isn't classy, is Cindy McCain? A woman BORN into riches, a woman who courted a MARRIED MAN in John McCain, and a woman who STOLE FROM HER CHARITY to feed her prescription drug addiction? Oh, but she's pro-life. Classy indeed.
WAKE UP!
Zekers says:
You go krystyn and get over it!!! I'd like to buy you both lunch!!!
Jenn says:
Don't like her. Don't have to.
Lester says:
It's a shame that Michelle Obama has to prove that she loves America. Republicans don't have to prove that—we KNOW they love America, they just hate half of its' population.
