Wow, I thought this was a story about Jamie Lynn not politics. Just because someone has a baby as a teenager doesn't make them white trash and because their mother isn't watching them 24/7 doesn't make them bad parents. the teens made choices and are living with those choices.

That's what the ignorant Christian-Fundie right leads to. "Abstinence only" sex-education is not going to work on immature kids with raging hormones. I lean toward the conservative as well, and while I believe abstinence is the best case scenario (especially for the mental and physical health of young girls), every parent who preaches it ought to also send the message that they're open to discuss other options as well. Young girls should have someone to talk to about birth control options and safe sex practices, and I'm not talking abortion. If these girls were taught about birth control and had easy access to it, this probably wouldn't have happened. I'm mainly concerned about girls being empowered and loving themselves. Having sex with some dumb kid who really has no respect for the girl or the girl's body is NOT the way to do that. P.S. SMG - I always gave praise to JL for keeping her child. It's a daunting responsibility.

I am pro-choice which means I respect both sides. I respect that she chose to keep the baby.

What I don't respect is how Palin is against sex education. If Bristol had education, or a mother that put her on the pill, she wouldn't have to make the choice in the first place.

This baby is going to change her whole life. Taking care of a child is so hard, how is she going to go to college and juggle her responsibilities.

Also her baby daddy's myspace page states he doesn't want kids.

I feel sorry for both Jamie Lynne and Bristol and their baby daddies.
