Everything about the MacCain/Palin ticket is a joke! Last night Giuliani's foaming hateful mouth, Sarah Palin's fact lacking speech and Cindy McCain's crazy dress (eyes, hair) was so hard to watch. I wanted to reach into my TV and slap them senseless.

I don't remember coming to this site becuase I want to know how you feel about politics - just give me the juicy gossip and that's all I need from you.

Palin gave the best speech there was in both the conventions combined. give me a break! trust me when i say i am not a republican, ive been a democrat all my life, but can you really trust somone with a resume as small as obamas? come on, mccain has fought for this country. barack has just modeled on the covers of magazines...

I thought Sarah Palin's speech was great! She's been attacked by the Democrats and the media. She had every right to respond the way she responded. You may not agree with her on the issues, but she definitely exudes confidence, strength and charisma. Her speaking style is just as good as Obamas.

I, personally, think the election just got a little more interesting because of her. She can definitely hold her own.

No, telling your kids not to have sex doesn't cause pregnancy BUT supressing and ignoring their urges, not EDUCATING them about birth control does. If she would talk about sex with her kids, if she could be open enough that her daughter would come to her about getting on the pill she wouldn't have to brow up so fast.

Maybe, but at 17, I'd be surprised if she didn't know what she needed to know about birth control, whether or not she had discussed it with her mom. The fact that she got pregnant doesn't mean she was ignorant. Obviously, informed adult women have accidental pregnancies all the time.

However, Obama's wife (STUPID woman) said she finally or she think she finally figured it out from her quote "might" be proud to be AMERICAN. Think want this woman next to her husband when trying to make a simple or responsible decisions? NOT!!

McCain doesn't agree with same sex marriage, but consistently votes against constitutional amendments to ban it, preferring to leave the decision to states. This is not the direction that liberal Golden Boy Former President Clinton chose when he put his support behind the "Defense of Marriage Act".

Leaving the decision to states translates to chickening out of making the decision. You leave it up to the state, the state votes as it wishes and you get your votes in the end, everybody is happy. You seriously fall for that?

Yes, it's called federalism. The Constitution says (paraphrasing) that all powers not expressly granted to the Federal government are reserved to the states. The Constitution doesn't say anything about marriage, so it's left to the states. Thus the "need" to amend the Constitution rather than simply pass a law.

Hmmm...I'm not sure why people are saying that the media is attacking Palin. The bloggers are doing so, but the mainstream media is fawning over her. (And don't count gossip rags as mainstream media) Also, she's a good speaker and her speech was great?!?! Really? Her voice is barely tolerable and the speech itself was mediocre. Albeit she was better than all the other speakers at the RNC, but that doesn't say much, now does it? Obama, both Clintons, Gore, Beaux Biden, Ted Kennedy, Dennis Kucinich (come on, it was a motivating speech) gave far superior speeches. She lacks the charisma, eloquence, intelligence and compassion of Obama and Biden (well, only the last two for Biden, but that's more than McCain and Palin). Yes, I guess that would make them "elitist," but I would never want an average joe in office. We already have one of those in office screwing up our country.

If anything, it seemed she had a good grip on things, especially knowing that everyone around her was judging her for her teenage daughter being pregnant. Don't attack her speech and everyone around her simply because you disagree with one trait of the republican party (gay marriage). I don't agree with abortion but I don't sit here and smash democrats to pieces for it.

I think Sarah Palin is just what the Republicans need - her family is the example of what we aspire to in the party - shotgun weddings, unprotected teenage sex, boyfriends who pride themselves on being rednecks and condescending, finger pointing speeches with no agenda for the country. And it feels real good to show other people how tough we are ....

And BTW, let's not slam education/abstinence, backwoods hockey players who think they're tough, underage pregnant teens, or tattoos (won't he love that when he's 35 and single?) - it all brings back memories of my own small hometown near Canada.

Actually, let's really look back at history and see that Osama Bin Laden's reputation has been well known and documented since the Reagan Administration. That would be through terms of both Democrats and Republicans.

However, one thing Bush DID inherit from Clinton was a record SURPLUS and a humming economy.
