Senator John McCain Promises Change

Share
Taking his cue from Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama, Republican candidate John McCain accepted his nomination at the Republican National Convention with a speech that promised change.

McCain briefly gave the Bush family kudos, as well as his, but my favorite was his 96-year-old mother who quickly stood up to get her applause. You go, you old girl, you.

The Arizona senator vowed, "I will reach out my hand to anyone to help me get this country moving again." And then his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin performed shooting tricks on-stage, which included blasting an apple clean of Cindy McCain's head. And then the Alaskan wrestled a moose.

OK, maybe that last part only happened when my mind started wandering during his speech, but give it time. We'll get to see that soon enough. And honestly, if I get to watch Palin put a moose in a headlock, she might just win my vote. I base my politics on a candidate's animal wrestling abilities.

Palin could take em all . . . in a dress and heels . . . and still look good.

the only change coming for john mccain involves adult diapers.

I'm sorry, but which teenage mutant ninja turtle is this?

Might I suggest you grow up a little!! Leave McCain and his age alone. Haven't you ever heard of respecting your elders? Do speak of your parents or grandparents in such a disrespectful manner? In my opinion, he's a great man and he will make a damned good president. If you want to debate relevant matters such as abortion, off shore drilling and the economy, please do so. However making snide, inane comments regarding this man's age is absolutely ridiculous. It also shows the mindset of a good portion of Obama's supporters. They know nothing about politics so they can only resort to name calling and immaturity.

My apologies on the multiple posts.

um, milky?

WHY should we leave his age alone? he'll be the oldest president if he gets elected and, like it or not, age DOES matter. the man refers to countries that don't exist, doesn't know there's no Iraq/Afghanistan border, and doesn't know how many houses he owns.

I can respect my elders if they earn it. he's got my respect for serving his country but that's about it. the man is SO far from what he once was ("maverick"). "change" my arse...he voted with bush 90% of the time.

your opinion: he's a great man and will make a damned good president.

well, aren't we entitled to our opinion, as well? and if my opinion is that he WON'T make a good president, regardless of the reason, am I not entitled to it?

and please, do NOT paint all of Obama's supporters with such a wide brush. would you like it if I referred to ALL republicans as racist, chauvinistic douchebags? there are dumbasses in BOTH parties; don't act like there aren't immature idiots in the GOP who resort to name calling.

Let's vote on issues, qualifications and capability and leave AGE out of it. When you're in your 70's and treated like a pile of sh*t just because of it, you're not gonna like it so much. I guarantee it. Ageism is no different than sexism and racism. McCain is healthy and capable. If you don't like his stand on the issues, say so.

When Obama loses, how long until he goes back to the crack pipe?
