Anyways, the movie will probably serve as an education aid for Matthew who enjoys teaching his newborn son how to surf. McConaughey also told Jay Leno recently that even though he enjoys a solo surf expedition now and again, he doesn't mind diaper duty--with certain exceptions.
Matthew told the talk show host "When they're not aiming and they're doing a #1, and it hits you right in the face, then that's kind of a big deal." The sad part is that they don't ever seem to grow out of the "not aiming" bit.

Has anyone figured out yet that he can't really surf?
In my humble, raised-in-SoCal surfing-for-20+-years, boogie-boarding for-the-decade-prior opinion, if you didn't start when you are a kid, you'll never be any good.
It is a very difficult skill to acquire, and I know people who have been trying to do it for decades who never get any good.
In fact, I've never seen a photo of a celebrity "surfing" where they actually appeared to have any skill. They all look like they are in the final hour of their Surf Divas class.
Longboards suck.
