Matt Damon and Wyclef Jean took a trip
to Haiti over the weekend to help raise awareness of need in the
battered country. Haiti has been hit by four tropical storms and
hurricanes in the past month, leaving thousands homeless and hungry.
Over 300 people have died.
"It's inhumane," said Wyclef. "I wish there was a word in the dictionary. No human should be living like this."
The artist (who was born in Haiti) and charitable actor toured cities distributing food through Wyclef's charity foundation Yele Haiti. The two are hoping to help the UN raise over a $100 million U.S. dollars for the Caribbean country.
"Hopefully we can make enough noise that people will pay attention," new daddy Matt said to the press. "I truly believe in the people of my country."

that's nice.
Dandy's girl says:
Thanks for reporting on that. Haiti is such a forgotten country in so much need and generally not sexy enough for celebrities to visit or care about. I liked Matt Damon before but this impresses me, that he actually visited and saw what has happened there from the hurricanes in part because it can be dangerous for aid workers. Wyclef is making good change in Haiti, too. It's nice to see he hasn't forgotten the need in where he came from.
