Rose McGowan is starring in the Irish Republican Army drama Fifty Dead Men Walking, but the film's producers have decided to distance themselves from the actress because of comments she made about the violent civil conflict.
At the Toronto Film Festival, Rose said that she would have joined the IRA because she understands why people in Northern Ireland turned to violence to deal with the problems.
The producers released a statement saying that, "Ms. McGowan's views were private ones, and as such they greatly saddened the film's producers."
They also said that they "regret any distress" her comments may have caused "to people of Northern Ireland and particularly those who were victims of or caught up in the shocking events that existed during the conflict."
Newly single Rose is lucky she has more work already confirmed. If it wasn't for Sin City 2, producers everywhere might have been too worried about Rose opening her trap and causing trouble.

So basically what this MORON is saying is that she is ok with the fact that in August 1998, to take one example, a 500lb car bomb exploded on Main Street in Omagh, Co.Tyrone on a Saturday afternoon , killing 29 innocent civilians. Because that was done in the name of 'freedom'. She is ok with knee cappings and people being tarred and feathered ? That was the reality of the IRA in recent years, not Rose McGowan's ignorant romantic notion.
And if she ever bothered to educate herself slighty before she opened her stupid mouth, she would realise that progress was only made in the North after the ceasefire and both sides started to talk to each other.

Okay Cardigan first off that bombing was done by a renegade offshoot who refused to back the good Friday agreement, not the IRA. Second Rose McGowan never said she supported the violence but that she understood the reason behind it. The British were never exactly kind to the people of Ireland ( The words Bloody Sunday ring a bell?) And why is it perfectly alright for Protestant extremists -most of whom are descended from English and Scottish Immigrants BTW- to be Terrorists? The Ulster loyalists groups are just as much-if not more- guilty of violence and intolerance in the region and yet they seem to be the ones screaming the most over Rose McGowan's comment. Th at being said the only thing She is guilty of is bad timing considering the fact that there are still open wounds on both sides :(
