For those of you who give one, Clay Aiken came out in the pages of People magazine to spare his son Parker a life of lies! Dude, Parker came out of his mom
and was like "damn, my dad's totally queer. I can tell by the flat
iron." But that's neither here nor there. Anyway, here's some choice
tidbits from the interview.
"It was the first decision I made as a father," he says in the magazine, which comes out on Friday. "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn't raised that way, and I'm not going to raise a child to do that."
Aiken's fans, the fanatical Claymates, have always ferociously defended Clay's "heterosexuality" and Clay's aware that this might cause some sort of fiery revolution down at Jo Ann Fabrics. He says that they need to "know that I've never intended to lie to anybody at all. ... But if they leave, I don't want them to leave hating me." Good luck with that. Hell hath no fury like a Beanie Baby collector scorned!
